Well, there was a thread on the Sound on Sound forum the other day about Genesis and what Bass Mike Rutherford used, and the answer was, in the early days before his custom Shergold double-neck, that he used a Rickenbacker. (BTW - In the 80s he used a headless, bodiless, Steinberger which sounded great but looked ridiculous in the hands of such a big bloke... It was the sublime to the ridiculous after the two-tonne lump that was the Shergold!!!) This reminded me that I had some samples kicking around for years of the venerable Ricky. Anyhow... I've looped them and created several programs. The range is between B0 and G3. At velocities below 110 you'll get the looped bass samples. At velocities above 110 in the same range you'll get variously swoops and slides depending on the note. A4, B4, D4, E4, G#4, A5, C#5, D5, F#5 and B6 are all harmonics (sounding an octave lower than that, but I mapped them above the actual bass notes) I haven't keymapped the harmonics to other keys because they are pure intervals, and in real life only available at those pitches. ADMIN EDIT : www.hollowsun.com/downloads/index.htmlThere are three programs. A-1 Rickenbacker. A-2 Dirty Ricky. Which has an inserted cab overdrive, controllable by Knob 1 A-3 (My personal fave) Flangy Ricky. Which has a fairly deep flange insert Enjoy, feel free to suggest enhancements, tweak if you like, or whatever.

PS.. If the download starts to get very slow, my ISPs traffic limiter will have kicked in Let me know if it does, and I'll see if I can host them on my wife's business server instead.
