www.atomsplitteraudio.com/samples.phpA lot of ideas I had for sampling are already here on this site... maybe I should search the Internet before I decide to re-invent the wheel and sample what in my mind I think is original...

Those samples from that site are not designed for the Alesis Fusion. They are WAVs actually and could be used. The trouble is, from the few I downloaded and checked.... They're shite! Almost every one of the drum samples I looked at/listened to are distorted! I am not sure of their provenance either because they are not normalised but are still 'squared' and 'flat' on the attack transients making me think that they're samples of someone else's distorted samples. Which you might like of course. Many are also mono samples recorded in stereo (wasteful of memory and storage and load times - X 2 for all). Sorry if I am coming across as a bit grumpy but this is typical of the free stuff that's available on the interweb - i.e. crap done by amateurs who think they are (ahem) professional (ahem) sound designers! Steve Still, it's free, like the Hollow Sun freepacs, and if you're looking for that kind of stuff, it's good! After all, bands like the Chemical Brothers rarely use non-distorted drum sounds anyway . I also don't see the need for insulting or discouraging people who give things away for free.

I appreciate "free stuff" as much as anyone, and realize that if it's free, you can't really complain. But, I also appreciate it when someone with more experience (than me, anyway) points out the pros and cons. But, IMHO, NONE of the freebies that I've checked out even come close to the HS freepacks. It's a whole other country kev

I have to say that I love the demo made with the Household Item samples, and some of the pads sound pretty cool played through iTunes (haven't heard them in the Fusion, though).
