Well, I've had my Fusion now for two weeks and I've been looking through this Forum and made a couple of posts on Fusion Zone, so I though I better introduce myself.
I'm a very simple guy, who has a passion for eating pasta and playing the keys. I play on stage in a worship band in my local church. I used to play the classical way, but now play by ear.
I took the plunge and bought the 8HD when I saw it new at £470.00, an unbelievable bargain. I'm now glad I didn't spend thousands on a Fantom or Motif, as the Fusion seems to sound just as good if not better.
So far I'm really happy, but overwhelmed at the same time, as this is the first real synth I've owned. Before getting this I had a simple digital piano the Yamaha DGX 620, which was an excellent starter setup but this is a big step up.
So far on my Fusion Journey, I've downloaded as many sound banks as I can get my hands on to see what its capable off in terms of sounds. I must say I'm really impressed, especially the free stuff from KPR, Hollow Sun, and the V-Stream guy is awesome. Been checking out the Grand Piano and Orchestra pack from KPR, I'll start saving now for these. For the time being, any good links for a nice free Grand Piano would be welcome, as I'm looking for some holy grail alternatives.
The next thing I would like to learn for the synth is how to make a new mix in mix mode of 2 or more programs, but so far I can't seem to figure it out, and don't want to mess up the existing sounds.
Anyway its been very nice to meet you all and thanks for your advice so far for those who have crossed my path. The forum's do seem a little dead, but the people who are around seem real nice.
Ciao,
Italianie
