I don't think I'd trust a sliding shelf to cope with the full weight of an 8HD bearing down on it. Especially if the desk was from a flat-pack outlet like Ikea.

very nice and simple desk. I think i will do something like that, to put my light 88keys midi control keyboard. I think so that, the fusion is to heavy for that kind of sliping desk, but the idea is great. thanks a lot for the nice pics. I wonder now, where I can find solid mecanism. IKEA ?
