Hello fellow Fusioneers. Being new to the Fusion and having just purchased a 6HD before Christmas, I would like to introduce myself. I am genus9 living in West Sussex in the UK. Now that the formalities are over I have various other keyboards, as we all do. But I would like to start off this thread by asking fellow fusioneers: Can I just plug in my Vox Continental II Organ, Roland JX8P directly into the Audio inputs at the back of the 6HD, and listen to them through my amp which is connected to the output jack socket of the Fusion. ...Basically I would like to start recording and sequencing some tracks. I know the majority of you are experienced, but we all need to start somewhere and I don't want to damage any thing before I go. Ialso do find the reference manual a little difficult to get going, but maybe practice will make perfect... Thanks

Hi to a fellow west sussex fusioneer!!
you cant exactly plug an audio output into the fusion and listen to it through the same amp.... well you can but you have to set up the fusion correctly.
I would have to double check, but when I did it you had to be in song mode.
with 1 or 2 (for stereo) audio tracks enabled and i think in record standby mode.
there is no pre amp on the 8 audio inputs, so you shouldnt have issues with a keyboard, but guitars and mics need a pre amp.
there are drawbacks i know, but you can make it work...
I have made a fair few recordings using the inputs... its do able.. but not all that much fun :-)
there are some useful quick start type guides ,links are on this site somewhere. they are quite helpful.
good luck and have fun
cheers
Andy

Hi genus9, I too live in West Sussex, Worthing to be exact! Hope you are enjoying your Fusion it is a very underrated synth. I have had mine for just under a year and I am still scratching the surface partly due to the abismal user manual. Fortunately there are a lot of nice people on this forum who will gladly help you if you run into trouble. Don't forget to download all the free Hollow Sun sounds from the Alesis website, they are amazing and is the reason I bought my Fusion. I have a Roland Fantom x6 and I can honestly say the fusion is a greater machine sonically. You will not be dissapointed.

Very useful for a beginner. www.sudosonic.com/servlet/Detail?no=16Top tip, though. Look it up on eBay, where Sudosonic also sell these DVDs sometimes, and drop them a line offering the price advertised there as it's a lot cheaper than the one charged on their website. You don't need the item still to be on sale; just find an example of a recent listing. I looked one up just now and it was almost half the price charged on their main site.

I don't live in West Sussex, but bid you welcome anyway. You're not one of those East Sussexites, are you? They're the worst.
