Here's my set-up ... The gear on show is as follows: - Frontier Design AlphaTrack MIDI control surface;
- M-Audio Trigger Finger and Axiom 25 MIDI controllers;
- Edirol MA-1EX USB speakers and FA-66 audio interface;
- AKG K450 headphones;
- Tascam CD-RW700 CR rewritable recorder;
- Sony MDS-JE520 MiniDisc deck;
- Lexicon MX200 dual reverb effects processor;
- Samson Resolv 50a active monitors;
- Yamaha MG124c mixer;
- Waldorf Blofeld desktop synth;
- Roland Fantom-G6 synth workstation;
- Alesis Fusion 6HD synth workstation;
- Marshall Electronics MXL 990 condenser microphone;
- Sennheiser HD200 headphones.
Out of view is the obligatory Shure SM58 dynamic microphone, an Alesis ControlPad, a Zoom H2 portable recorder and, of course, my computer, which has an Intel Core2 Duo E6600 processor, 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, with Microsoft Windows XP running Steinberg Cubase 5, Ableton Live 7, Sony Sound Forge 9, Native Instruments Kontakt 3, MusicLab RealGuitar 2 and RealStrat. After a couple of years' aimless experimentation, however, I don't really bother with the music software now and have returned to a hardware-based approach, mainly using my Fusion and Fantom-G. In a box somewhere are an Edirol M-10DX digital mixer, a PreSonus Comp16 compressor, Samson's C-control, C-com16 and C-valve, and various other bits 'n' bobs I'm not using at the moment. And I must not forget the oldest item in my collection - a Carlsbro Colt Keyboard 100 amplifier, not used for several years as I haven't done any gigs lately.

Welcome to the club comradec . . . Very nice Fantom G6! I purchased my Fantom X8 just before the G range came out! But I am still really happy with it a year-and-a-half later! I am quite curious about the Blofeld though . . . what's it like?

Welcome to the club comradec . . . Very nice Fantom G6! I purchased my Fantom X8 just before the G range came out! But I am still really happy with it a year-and-a-half later! I am quite curious about the Blofeld though . . . what's it like? I haven't really used it much yet, as I only bought it a few weeks ago. The presets are mostly good though. Truth is, I'd had the Fusion for 14 months before I started to explore it seriously. And that's been this week, by the way. The Fantom-G is excellent. Getting into the G reminded me that this music lark isn't as difficult as it had seemed recently during my unproductive period of software DAW experimentation. Goodbye software, except for Windows Explorer and maybe the occasional edit in Sound Forge. Back to hardware.

Nice set-up you got there.
I'm moving away from software and getting more into hardware now too... I find it much faster even if it is a little limited in one or two respects.

Nice set-up. I don't software either. I have to steal one of your studio ideas. I took Steve's idea with his set-up of having everything in front of him nice at neat. Well, I'm stealing your idea with the stuffed animal bear. I'm getting one.(smile)
