Yes, it´s a already cult for a specific client list of organ lovers. The sound is not as cheesy as a Farfisa. Check eBay for an impression how much the buyers are paying for. But the model must be in a playable shape to get $$$. The most famous model is a single keyboard organ with just a few registers plus some knobs. It comes with a built-in reverb, I guess that´s why they call them Weltraum Orgel. And Philicordas were used in the late 60ies for those Science Fiction black/white movies like "Orion 8", a bit of jazzy plus futuristic plingplong effects. Peter Thomas is one of those composers, check google for him. Years ago I worked in a music store where they sold used Philicordas, sometimes I played them in my freetime.

Any idea what sort of rates he charge? You made me look at his site again, and I just noticed what he's done to a Roland JX3P - actually built a new wooden chasis for it, and lifted up the controls at a tilt angle. My god, this would be incredible if he did this for a Fusion. But I don't even live in the same country to consider this

Any ideas if a Philicorda will ever get some kind of 'cult status'? I mean, my parents have a Philicorda - worth keeping? Totally keep it. Especially if it is a model with a tube pre-amp. There is a Philicorda players group on MySpace. I think that they are becoming a "cult" item now. Hopefully I will be able to drive out to The People's Republic of California in couple of weeks and pick this one up. This model has a solid state pre-amp.

I'm not sure if my model has a tube pre-amp, it's the Philicorda 758 (see www.pbase.com/markus/philicorda_758). Maybe this one is not as 'classic' as the older ones. It does not have the typical hammond attack, but the sound is good and indeed not cheesy at all, with a warm chorus.
