Doing some solo gigs at an old age home, and trying to incorporate the drum machine. It's very flexibe, and has some great patterns. But not a decent shuffle in the bunch. Does anyone know anything about programming the drums in this thing?

Thanks for your help, Jesse. I've made serious progress recording new patterns, and using the drum track from free midi files on the net. It is tricky, though, and must be done carefully. However the key is that a midi file can simply be renamed .afa. I've even told my pc to open .mid files and. afa files in Sonar. And to save them that way.

Glad you are making progress Keep us informed with what you learn so we can help other Fusion keyboard owners. Jesse

As usual, I'm making drum patterns in many ways, playing them into sonar then editing, downloading midi files, deleting the non-drum tracks then editing. While you could make 'A','A fill', 'B', and 'B fill' patterns it's quicker and maybe more real sounding to just make one long track and let it play til you stop it.

Yeah, Drums I have always found difficult. My drum tracks are usually played in on the Fusion with the SampleHeads Kit, first run, Kick, Snare and (Toms, usually on the 4th beat of a 4/4) IYKWIM? Second run through (Record set to <overdub>) Cymbals, rimshots etc . . . Can't get on with pre-made patterns. They sound great on their own, but never seem to be right in context with MY song . . . Then, I usually export the midi to the CF card and import it into Reaper as separate tracks, (drums being one), I delete the others and then can edit minutely in Reapers midi editor to clean it up. I never use quantise either in record of afterwards - but then that's just me . . . . it always seems to screw up whatever I THOUGHT I had in mind . . . . I often start out with a simple Kick/Snare track, just to have something to listen to - apart from the metronome Just because you have a MONSTER KIT, doesn't mean you HAVE to hit everything in sight . . . . I'm working on a Genesis Cover ATM and apart from being no Phil Collins (Drummer or Singer), I know what the drums sound like and Phil's style (to a degree), so the drums are sounding "adequate" ATM, but its the vocal that is more problematical. The end section requires UP an octave, and my poor old vocal cords just won't cut it these days. . . and AutoTune (ReaPitch/ReaTune) does NOT sound that convincing - So I may have to leave it an octave lower. People who KNOW the song will spot this for sure . . . Ho Hum . . . . parametric

Just because you have a MONSTER KIT, doesn't mean you HAVE to hit everything in sight . . . . parametric I agree, I have a decent drum kit, but often play mainly the hats, snare, kick, left side sizzle ride & one tom, but then again I like to experiment a little Jesse
