Oh My God . . . I'm sure I blacked out at least once while looking at that website! What a studio . . . what a house . . . what a life! I would point out that she didn't have a Fusion . . . but by the time I finish writing this she probably will . . .

I would point out that she didn't have a Fusion I would also point out that there are no links to any MUSIC she's made with the colossal setup Similarly with that synth.nl setup - the music links there are all to some gunk he's made using softsynths

We must see to it that they develop the lust for our sleek silvery friend.

Prana She just likes playing with them which is fair enough - I know quite a few people who for whatever reason dont ever actually produce tracks - some of them gig all the time, others just like playing and cant be arsed with production. She does get around the industry a fair bit - been photographed with bob moog at some event - though I dont think he was too impressed at the time... Anyway when you have that many synths then there is no way in hell you can know them to any useful degree - it tempting to lust after a setup like that but TBH while I would love access to such a setup as a way of trying out different synths, there is no way in hell I could work with such a setup. I think most people can be usefully productive with upto about 6-8 synths + fx - too much more and there too many choices, not enough deep knowlege etc unless you have had most of it for many years and added stuff slowly...

I think most people can be usefully productive with upto about 6-8 synths + fx - too much more and there too many choices, not enough deep knowlege etc I agree with that. I can understand having a few keyboards if each of them does something unique but WTF does anyone need several of each (or several different products all doing essentially the same thing - i.e. a Nord AND a Virus AND a Novation AND a JP8000)? One can argue about subtle differences in character but let's be sensible!!! I could even accept that setup if she was running hundreds of MIDI channels but by her own admission, she has trouble filling the maximum 16 her Maxwerks sequencer thing offers!! I am more in Brian Eno's camp - have one synth and know it very well and deeply like a violinist knows his/her instrument almost as an extension of themselves. He worked for years with nothing other than a VCS3 (later a 'briefcase' Synthi-A for portability) and sometimes a MiniMoog, later on a DX7, and it seemed to work for him! I can honestly say that if she GAVE me that setup, I'd sell the lot (except, perhaps, for the custom Moog Voyager)!! Steve

Some words from the lady herself that I found on www.musicthing.co.uk : "I guess because my life as presented on my website messes with people's expectations of both women and musicians. Nowhere have I mentioned music coming soon, nor do I feel any obligation or hurry about it. I'm sharing a music-making tool that has been my work-focus and passion so far, and people who take a cursory squint around my site may be missing or disregarding that. It's good to remember that what people do with their music things may come in many flavors and phases" Hmmmmm . . . Still . . . I would not swap her and all her gear for Alison Goldfrapp who is currently snuggled up next to . . . wake up (grunt) . . . what?

Oh... she has knowledge, she had stated that knowledge of the synths was greater than the synths, I think when she stated that, that was her way of staying sane. ;D and... justifying her massive collection of synths.
Actually, she is great at networking all of those synths/keyboards etc. With all that she has, she is taking most all of them and creating one giant workstation. Now that is a great idea she has in the making.
AorphiA ;D

When she and Mark Pulver got married at NAMM, Bob Moog gave the bride away. He was a close friend.
