I have had the same problem. When using my fusion 6hd to trigger my wavestation sr, I was able to lock up the sr. I assummed it was to much controller data being sent to the wavestation. I really liked layering the fusion and wavestation in real time, but since I perceive that there is a problem... I stopped doing it and bought a cheap midi controller for the sr.
My two cents....

Thats a great Idea. I could play it into SONAR and see what shows up on the grid. Also I noticed in the manual for THE Velocity CURVES. IT says. Adujsting these Curves also affects the MIDI OUTPUT. I don't think my "Qs 7 did that . I know when you change a patch(on the FUSIONHD6) and it moves from ASSIGN button to Filter or eq if you move the KNOB you see on the B4 organ the KEy click knob moves or sometimes you see the wrong knob like the vibrato settings. , Usually the problem occurs after I do a few Program changes with the mixxes on the fusion. I know my laptop is working good because my qs 7 will play battery and the B4 at the same time and never crash. I use a MIDIMAN MIDIsport USB. Never had a problem with it untill I hooked up a midi cable from the Fusion Midi OUT. I keep testing and check some more forums and load the new OS 1.24. thanks ...

I don't think my "Qs 7 did that As in, it affects the velocity over MIDI as well as in the instrument. Then you need to look at the controller settings for your Fusion - Global / Controls - and set them to controllers which map more sensibly onto B4 parameters. Under Global / MIDI, you might want to try turning off MIDI Mix Select, and see if it helps any. No, you know that one combination of keyboard / VST doesn't crash, and another one does. That doesn't tell you where the bug is, only that not everything will trigger it. The thing about testing is that you have to be methodical about it. I know how tempting it is to try everything you can think of all at once (I know that way too well) but you really do get a sensible answer faster if you only change one thing at a time...

NO my computer(laptop DELL 1100) is fine. The Qs7 works flawless with it . WHAt I did do is I hooked up m hd6 to my computer in my studio and recorded a midi track without playing anyting to see what would show up in the Event manager a tip I found here on another question. AND yes it is getting a message I don't want. STRANGE but the event list said" audio track 1 start" and another message under that " audio track 2 start". Now thats in mix mode. That is not needed for a VST controller to work properly. I just bought a Compact Flash card and Im gonna load the new OS into it . I found the list of bug fixxes. geez over 64 or more. ok 1.24 is the one Im going to load. HOPE IT works better. thanks ppl.

OS v1.24 fixed a single very specific problem with the Fusion, and no others. If OS v1.23 (the one you have) is exhibiting a different problem, so will OS v1.24. If you can't live with it, and you can't figure out how to solve it, I suggest you take your Fusion back to the dealer and get a refund.

Mr. Keyz, So you problem right now is that you can't get the OS to load, is that correct? If so, please start a new thread under the general heading and let's try to get you some help. I only stumbled on to this by accident. I too had trouble updating my OS and was also doing " everything right". Except I wasn't. I had some step screwed up. So far, whenever I have gotten stuck or had a problem doing something with this instrument, it has always ended up being my fault or lack of understanding some key point. Don't get frustrated. Like I always say, Rome wasn't burned in a day.

Incidentally, if you want queries answered in a timely fashion, you might do well to: * create an account (or use the one you created) * limit your usage of capitals to no more than the first letters of sentences and proper nouns * start new threads for new queries, rather than hijacking old ones * not stomp your feet like an insufficiently-attended four year old if your query falls between the cracks the first time * observe the case of your instrument to discern the correct way to spell its name (or, you know, look up a bit). OK all is well. I got ver 1.24 v to load on my PC from the USB cable. Don't know how I did it but I unzipped it and dragged it over to the folder on my desktop. new OS seems to work much better. thanks for advice.

I don't know how you did it either because I thought you could only update the OS with a CF card, not through USB. Curious.

Hello Everyone, I have bought a alesis Fusion and want to use it for the Live Performance in the Band. My question is: waht should I do, if I want get the Sounds and Mixes for a Song during the Performance quickly. It means, is it possible to create some Banks where I can put Sounds (even Preset Sounds) in so that I just have to touch one button to get an other sound? thank you

After my first gig with the HD8 this morning, here's my first contribution to this tips page: Take someone strong with you (or take a trolley!) to carry her from the car. I'm not sure if my back is ever going to recover!

I do! That's a real important recommendation for 8HD users! But the Fusion is not the only one keyboard in this weight class

And you think Fusion's heavy??!!!

Steve I helped roadie a mate-of-a-mate's band way back when I was a slip of a lad. He had a Mellotron and some dreadful non-hammond organ (and a pianet, and a moog prodigy and a crumar stringman - but all of those were easily liftable) and it took like 3 of us to get the Mellotron onto the truck after the gig. And that was only one flight of stairs down to a cellar bar. I also used a rhodes seventy three on occasion back in the late 70s and that was a ba%^&rd to lug about.
