I see some people here that appear to be new to forums so here are some basic instructions.
Click on the various 'boards' to see the 'threads' in them (for example, click on GENERAL and you will be taken to a page where you will see all the threads on that board).
To create a new thread, click on NEW THREAD in the blue title bar on the right. A text editor will open where you can type your message. When you're done, scroll down a bit and click on PREVIEW to check it before sending; click on POST MESSAGE to actually post it.
When you have a thread open, to reply/contribute to it, click on REPLY in the blue header bar - this will open the text editor as above.
If you want to reply to a particular post specifically, click on QUOTE just above the message on the right - this will open up the text editor as above but will also include the text from the post you are replying to. Note that you don't need to quote all of it ... maybe just one sentence ... so extraneous stuff can be deleted - just be sure to end the quotation with [/quote] exactly as typed here.
You can edit your messages even after you have sent them by clicking on MODIFY just above your message to the right.
You can delete your own messages by clicking on DELETE just above your message to the right.
To add smileys and other 'emoticons' to your messages, click on the appropriate icon above the text editor (note that they are - irritatingly - NOT placed at the point where your cursor is but at the end of the message. You may need to cut and paste the bit of text used to generate the emoticon to where you want it in your post.
Maybe Rob or Rod will be along with some other instructions - for example, including photos or links, etc., in messages.
