HELLO, I HAVE .MID FILE FROM MY OLD KEYBOARD AND COPY THEM INTO HD OF THE FUSION AND I CAN`T PLAY THEM OR LOAD THEM IN SONG MODE. CAN THE FUSION PLAYBACK MIDI FILES?
THANKS

can't remember exactly - been a while since I used the Fusion's sequencer... try renaming the .mid file as a .smf file I'm sure someone who has done it recently will pop along to confirm this or tell you the right way to do it.
Um... Why do you type all caps?.. Is your keyboard broken, or are you SHOUTING?

It's been a while since I did it (and I can't check right now) but ISTR that you have to import them...
That is, with the .MID file on your CF card, in SONG mode, press EDIT then UTILITY then SONG UTIL then IMP SONG and you will be taken to a screen where you can import the file as an Alesis 'song'. Mark may be right about renaming - I can't remember.

Simple one this.
First, either dump the .MID file onto your Fusion's HD or stick it on a CF card and insert into the Fusion. No need to rename the file.
Now, go to SONG MODE and then press the EDIT button. On the left of your screen, select UTILITY and then on the right of the screen select SONGUTIL.
You will get a new menu and the second option down on the right is IMPSONG (Import MIDI file to Song). Select this.
You will then be asked to navigate to the location where you placed the .MID file. Find the file and press the IMPORT soft key on the right of the screen. You will get a success message. Press OK.
Your MIDI file will now have been converted into a Fusion song. Just make sure you save it before navigating away from it.
Hope that helps.

Just remember that the Fusion only reads SMF 1 files --- make sure your MIDI file you want to import is type 1, not type 0. Type 1 has multiple tracks, type 0 is a simpler type where everything is smashed onto one single track.

Unless I am being a bit thick here (which is quite likely), isn't the advice there a little contradictory? Steve

What contradictory? I double-checked before I posted to make sure that it said what I meant -- SMF 1 type files are what Fusion reads only.... Hey!! Who posted Fusion only reads SMF 0 files?!! -- surely not me, as I double-checked to make sure it said what I meant...
