Congrats on the baby. Word of advice though, don't burp the baby near the Fusion. Alesis wont like what they'll find if you have to send it back. ;D Again, congrats!

Thanks everyone. Good to have the Fusion back although I'll be mainly using headphones for a while I have to admit while my Fusion was being replaced I nearly strayed into buying a Yamaha Motif ES but I am pleased I didn't. It's surprising when you take a closer look, just how many limitations there are on many of the other workstations despite them costing siginificantly more. 5 notes of poly & 1 part multi-timb unless you buy more plg cards, editing via pc only, have to buy additional plg card for FM, no proper hd recording, no sample ram as standard !, and all sorts of faffing around. I'm not knocking the Motif as its a well made piece of kit and I do like Yamaha kit, but Alesis have currently left them well behind. There are a few web forums around where people are knocking the Fusion for not sounding as good as the others. I know sounds are subjective and all that pants but surely anyone with ears has to admit that now the Fusion (with its large samples from HD, powerful Va and FM engines) by and large sounds better. Particularly with the ever growing (and free) Hollow Sun sounds and the KPR sounds. Maybe its just me, I've tried for years to get the kind of sounds used in 80's bands like Blancmange (anyone else remember them?) and at last I found a board that can do it without resorting to thousands of pounds worth of vintage kit. I hope Alesis build on the Fusion it really is something special. And thanks for setting up this Forum, hopefully it can be somewhere we can share Fusion experiences and help newbies (like me) to maximise the Fusion's potential. /\/\
