Thank you fugashas for sending your request to Alesis . . . .
General feeling is that nothing will happen, but the more requests they get, the better (IMO)
As has been said before, its a great shame that the Fusion was legacied so young . . . .
Even with its missing features - there is much to like about it and it remains a very versatile board . . .
It just would have been nice if it had been "finished" . .

I'm encouraged by what I've read here and sent the following message to the Alesis link above this evening:
Hi!
Thanks for creating the Fusion keyboards! A Fusion 6HD has been the centerpiece of my recording setup - more recently in conjunction with REAPER - for about nine years. I have OS 1.24, upgraded the RAM myself and continue to wonder at the depth and range of this keyboard. I used to have a Kawai K5000W so I know a bit about deep keyboards, but the Fusion is really something special. For years, I've heard rumblings about an OS 2.0 that was never released and I'm writing to ask you to consider finishing that version and releasing it to those of us who have continued to create music and use this special workstation. Lately, I've been hearing about new products coming out and new sources for Fusion parts that I haven't heard of before, so it seems like an opportune time for Alesis to help the devoted Fusion owners out with the next version of software for a keyboard that was headed in a great direction. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback!
I view the Fusion as being a lot like the K5000 - a very deep, rich device that takes time to understand and appreciate in a world where many are only concerned about what the best ROMpler piano is. I'll take the visionary, complex, off the beaten path instruments any day over those that are just fancy tape players.

Hello, I haven't been on in a while, As a professional composer here in the US, I work with many many keyboards / synthesizers in my studio. And I also find the fusion to be the most remarkable Synthesizer I have ever played .. So I have also directly contacted Alesis by phone and email . I think what you doing on the website here is just amazing and you have my full support. I will be contacting them again in the very near future. As they say the squeaky wheel gets the grease . lol . Godspeed to all I am proud to be a member here , TotallyKenny ps I would also love to see a new fusion 2 .. For I just love hardware synthesizers / keyboards.. I think software has its place but nothing beats hardware !

Well totallykenny, you already KNOW you're in good company here Absolutely agree about the Fusion. When I was made redundant i decided to treat myself to a new board - and after much research in here and the other place - I was sold on the Fusion - and I've never regretted it. The 8HD has a keybed to die for (IMO). I'm primarily a Piano player, and I can get as much expression from the Fusion as I can from my Baby Grand . . . I maxed out the Ram ASAP AND devised the method to fit an SSD - which has now been faultless for 2 years . . . . . It is so sad that Alesis gave-up on the Fusion. It is still a giantkiller of a Board, despite it's little foibles, and even though I have recently availed myself of Komplete10, the Fusion is going nowhere from here anytime soon. I WOULD like to get an Akai Advance, to get at the VSTi parameters easily (probably controlled by the Fusion via midi). The only problem with this ATM is the incomplete support for Reaper, which I use . . . I'm not hopeful that InMusic are the right company to sympathise with us over the Fusion - having the reputation of being asset-strippers, so I understand . . . . I'm very happy to be proved wrong, but, don't think it's going to happen sadly . . . . The new Fusion Creator from ChickenSys looks promising, but is still buggy . . . I have to admit when I first saw your "handle" I thought of Kenny Gioia from Groove3 - who does an amazing series of vids on Reaper - HIGHLY recommended . . Best Regards parametric

By the way I did get a reply back from Alesis, which is a good sign. "Hello, Thank you for contacting us with your new product suggestion! Your feedback is important to us. I've logged your comments and suggestions into our feature request system. Such requests get compiled, and are delivered weekly in a report to Product managers, and members of our development team, ensuring that they receive the widest audience possible.
We certainly appreciate it when someone goes out of their way to share their ideas. Thank you again for your feedback!"They are listening and we as a group need to let them know there are thousands of us that want new features and support for our Fusion Work Stations. So contact Alesis Support, Let's see if we can get something accomplished! Hello and happy new year , Well it looks like Akai is listening to its Customers, Also is the same parent company as Alesis . And Akai is coming out with the new MPC x standalone. It's been a while since I have been on here but I'm still loving my Alesis fusion !! Yesterday I had a long talk with the people at Alesis/Akai . I made a great new friend. Just outstanding people to talk to. And in my talk with them I emphasized how important it would be to build a standalone synthesizer , Such as the Alesis fusion. A next-generation hybrid synthesizer. They seemed very very interested. I told them how many of us love Alesis fusion , Also please keep your support up for it. Thank you so much for this great website and Godspeed to all , TotallyKenny

Thanks for all your efforts Kenny. IMO The Fusion would be worth revisiting as a concept if they are up for it. It is STILL a highly specified board . . . It has more engines that the Montage (£3k in the UK) and is only surpassed in this respect by Korg's Kronos . . . I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what would be involved in making the e-sata external socket work and moving to sata for the HD - but I would guess redesigning component pcbs would be too much. A tidy up of the OS would be nice . . . . Given the presence of the FantomX, The Montage and the Kronos, I'd really like to see a Fusion2 to steal their thunder, but somehow, with all these VSTis around, they are feeling that the days of the WorkStation are over . . . ? Personally, I'm with you, inasmuch as there is something magic about walking up to a board, switching it on, and PLAYING parametric

I have it from a very good source that Alesis is Considering getting back into higher end syths etc. He wouldn't commit to what was going on, but he works in a major Music Gear Seller and has sat in on numerouse focus groups with companies like Roland, Korg, Behringer and more. Lets keep our fingers crossed. I look back on the day I sold my FUSION HD8 Sweetwater Special, when they were selling them off for Alesis cheap. I got mine for $9999.00 and it had 192 MB RAM and an 80 GIG Hard Drive, + extra loaded sounds. I sold it due to the way it is programmed. It seemed to me at the time to be a nightmare. It was my first workstation, my first higher end keyboard. I would love to see them make a 16 voice or more Analog/Digital workstation, seeing how analog is making a return and the Andromeda, at least the first run or so were amazing boards.
Does Chickens newest software make the Fusion easier to program than the native way of programming it? bfburkejr

That's nice to know - if it comes to anything. My own experiences with the Music Business is that nothing is certain until its happening . . . So I won't be holding my breath. The Fusion is STILL only surpassed by the Kronos (engine-wise at least) - even the Montage doesn't come close - and that's £3000 . . . I don't think Alesis knew what they had with the Fusion. It's demise was an absolute travesty IMO. The CS FusionCREATOR sounds to be good if they ever finish it - there is still much needs fixing. Having said that, my experience of programming is practically zero, so I'm not the best one to be answering that question. The Original FusionCONVERTOR WAS a useful (and useable) resource . . (IMO)
N.B. - Surely you mean $999.00 ?
