I suppose you're gonna tell me next that the tooth fairy doesn't exist Don't be daft !! I have written proof of their existence !! Infact, I am on close personal terms with their cousins, the cable fairies. I have an entire community that live in my studio and their work is evident every time I try and connect something up to something else !

One thing that those cable faeries can't guard against in the copper-is-better argument is electronic vulnerability . When connecting two building with a network-cable for example, you can get problems when using copper cables, due to different electric potential in those buildings. Not so with optical connections. For single-room usage this is not so relevant. But electronic isolation by using optical cable is still useful. I've recently had a blown computer power supply. It died with a loud explosion. Should something funky has happened at that stage, like a momentary main-power signal on the 5V lines, it could have taken out PCI cards plus any connected gear. Although this didn't happen in this case, I was glad that my fusion and monitoring equipment are both connected with fiber only .

I do not care about coax or optic... but please do not tell me that Santa Claus is not really existing. I can not support this kind of trick ! Even better: I enjoy, every 25th december how my friend Santa use to connect and disconnect coax to optic and viceversa... cool

You bunch of cynics, all of you. The only doubt I expressed was over Mr Claus' fabled mode of transport and personal service; I didn't question his existence at all...

You see, it doesn't matter how well or how neatly I store my cables or how carefully I pack them away or hang them up, when I need 'em next, those damned cable goblins have come in and tangled 'em all up and re-arranged them into a total mess Could your cable fairies have a word with the little bastards!
