If Nicolas Sarkozy is to do anything significant to the culture and wellbeing of France, it would be: 1: Dillute your coffee, as of the last time I was in Paris it literally burned through the bottom of my cup. The last time I was in the US the coffee served at breakfast resembled light brown dishwater with almost as much flavour* *Except in Seattle of course where every intersection has at least four starbucks. You think French Coffee is strong? Pah! That's nothing. go for a coffee in Naples... Or better yet, Istanbul ;D

"I left LA for England on the day of the LA Riots. I arrived eleven hours later and walked past a newsboard that said "LA Burns To Ground". Holy shit, did I leave a cigarette lit or something? Anyway, I had all these Brits come up to me and say "If it's any consolation the crime in Britain is terrible as well". I appreciate diplomacy, but this is Hobbiton and I'm Bilbo Hicks compared to the states. You can't tell with a British newspaper whether it's the main story or the comic section. I saw the front page of a newspaper there that read "Last night, a group of hooligans knocked over a dustbin in Shaftesbury." I'd like to see these 'hooligans' up against the Bloods in LA."

Yes , all is possible, perhaps Sarko will help our country and do some good things ! But what do you think about that : No subvention for little stage who produce little rock band ? No possibility of teaching music if you have no "diplome" (not now but soon !!!), or 10 hours of intervention music in scool for teaching youngs children instead of 25 hours ! don't forget Sarko always said "work more to get more money " !How do you can work more when ministery said 10 hours instead of 25 hours in the past ? This no propangand PS losers cause it's my case now !Little stage said "no legal money for your band cause no subventions, or play for nothing ! This is no propaganda, how do you explain that 2 or 3 years ago i earned about 300 euros (for each musician in the band ) by night and now it is 300 for the band ! Sure there will be some goods things in 5 years, but i'm afraid of not keeping my job in sept 2007, or 2008... Cause i have no diplome of music teacher, and it's not exist or it is a classical diplome you get on classical music conservatory. You know many conservatory of music does'nt teach how to read modern guitar notation, or does'nt want to teach oral transmission like trad. music (for me Indian music), or mAO music, or like my Boss who does'nt know how to jam and make improvisation and he's director of school music !!! , they stay in the traditionnal teaching( classical) .So how do you think i get 25 years ago a diplome for theaching modern music while now they ask themselve " how to teach modern music" with diplome teachers while there is no discipline for that ? Of course there is some expections, but things are made (actually) for " cleaning" schools and theachers to get more money for something else (like hospital or i don't know what ...),things are not made for music and school music, and what people want to learn and practice ! Just wait and see ! I go to Africa all the time (Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia) and South America (Brazil and Argentina) . I see bands without subvention tryng and fighthing all day long. As Frenchs, we need to stop to ask all the time money to the country: we are poor, very poor, and every one of my childrens have more debts since the first second of life. We need to get our responsabilities and start to work, and stop to ask help help help state and country help me every day. We do not have the possibility anymore (we've asked and got more than we could, now, you get the results). Of course, to stand this country up again we need to make some sacrifice... the country can not cost our weak points or no responsability behavior. It's my point, no the absolute true. We will see in 5 years. Regards

Hey, how do you like your coffee in USA ? Is it really coffe or substitution( the color, the water but not coffe ...) ? I prefer mediterranean coffee like turkish coffee cause you know your drinkin an authentic drink. And as said our president "the french people who wake up early in the morning... work more..."We need some legal drugs (like strong coffee) , to get good working people, have a burn coffee (Sarko said no "turkish" in Europe, sniff ...!). Oh what can i do if i like turkish coffee and oriental music, perhaps have a look on jerry Lewis film to drink dilute american coffee ?

In the USA we prefer illegal drugs to Turkish coffee. Also, we try NOT to work so hard (we have a slew of immigrants to do that for us). One advantage of living in a 'Police State'.
Aux Etats-Unis nous préférons les drogues illégales au café turc. En outre, nous essayons de ne pas travailler ainsi dur (nous avons un groupe d'immigrés pour faire cela pour nous). Un avantage de la vie dans un 'état de police '.

The French people have always made quite an impression on the Americans. Recently, the New York Times hailed the Sarkozy family as the 'NEW' Kennedy family.
Most Americans love French fries, French poodles, French kissing and French ticklers. Chevrolet is a major automobile manufacturer and we use BIC lighters for our cigarettes and other euphoric combustibles.
I myself enjoy some French goat cheese with my Champagne while looking at 'impressionist' paintings whilsit listening to Maurice Ravel, Pierre Boulez, Olivier Messiaen and Claude DeBussy. And let us not forget the great icon on the Hudson River 'the statue of liberty' (a gift from France). The Marquis de La Fayette rode with George Washington leading up to the American revolution and Washington called LaFayette "his son". And come to think about it, didn't you model your revolution after ours the year after?
One BIG mistake you guys did make however was 'the Louisiana Purchase'! You owned all that land and sold it to us for a meezly MILLION dollars back in the day. Is this the reason why Paris waiters are rude to us Yanks and screw around with our food?
Did you know that Bill Clinton can run for president of France? There is a law in France that anyone who was born in former French territories, speaks French and lives in France for five years can run. I recall Bill Clinton saying once that he would not mind moving there and 'brushing-up' on his French so that he could run, win and live in the palace 'the Élysée' .
Also,on a personal note Feez. My late wife was of French decent, Karen Lorraine Vincent. R.I.P.

I'm happy to see that french people are well seen (bien vu) in the USA! you know, americans artists have made good impression too for french people . For me and example, i enjoy men like Ray charles, Frank Zappa, jimi Hendrix, Dizzi gilespsi, jim Morrison, miles Davis, and all blues ancesters of modern music ...and my guitars are usa made,Gibson,Martin,Epiphone; You talk about Louisiane, the first name of my daugther is Louisiane !!! You speak french cause of you late wife ? To return to good or bad music subject , never forget that artists (cinema, music, paint, theatre ...) are internationals and people are of the world, good artists in africa or usa or germany , italy ,magreb, asia ... And this is idiot governements who produce wars, hungry, poor people, trade ... and ideas of what is or not good for us (like good and bad music...good or bad worker... good or bad drugs...good or bad tv ...goood or bad food... ..........)

I learned most of my French from a girl who I met in Vienna that was from Switzerland/Bulgaria. She followed me back to the USA and stayed with me for a couple of months until I sent her back. She was much too expensive to keep. Also, a girl who I went out with from Montreal. Ouuu-she-touch-my-la-la-la!

Hi, you want news of Sarkoland ? First, some good TV and radio programs have dissepeared "cause of audimat", but not ! they're just dangerous and subversive for politics and " french people" ! Journalist who built these program said "our programs are not allowed to be continued but we does'nt know why ! OH!, not Sarkoland effect ? And for musicians who teach whithout diplome , now governement as began the "witch hunt", yes i kow it cause i'm in this case ! Oh i remember some people said "sarko good for france" , " france go back to work", it's easy to see what will happen ! obscure censure, " cleaning" the bad workers... For the " good and bad music" we will wait and see !

Don't worry about the closings. The same thing happens here all the time. But, do you know what? New underground stations appear spontaneously. And even more than before and further out (Avant-Garde). Sarkozy has been making a good name in USA and EU. The true artists will always find a venue to probagate their stuff. Calm down...2012 (the end of the Mayan calendar) is only 5 years away and everything will change again(hopefully for the better).

Calm down...2012 (the end of the Mayan calendar) is only 5 years away and everything will change again(hopefully for the better). Actually, I was curious about this the other day, so I had a look into it... 21 December 2012 (possibly 23 Dec) will be day 13.0.0.0.0 in the Mayan calendar, true, but the Mayan calendar can potentially express up to nine "digits", each 20 of the previous one. So it can theoretically count up to 19.19.19.19.19.19.19.17.19 - which is 2^9*3^2*10^8 days, or 460,800,000,000 days... or 1.25 billion years. So we've got a bit longer yet. I did, however, find some interesting suggestions that the "End of Days" date referred to an astronomical event; apparently 21 December 2012 is the date on which the Earth crosses the galactic equator. The Mayans were expert astronomers, and would no doubt have been extremely curious about an event that they could predict, and probably believed their civilisation would survive to see, but of whose effects they wouldn't have the faintest idea - certainly, it hadn't happened before! And it makes much more sense that anyone with that much grasp of how little they know about the universe would say "hey, you lot 3000 years from now, don't miss this! it's going to be a bit special" than "you're all doooooooomed!!!!!11six6six".

calm down at 2012 ... Mayans were great people to see the world in the future, is it Sarko the representation of modern soldier on the "puerta del sol" with a gaz mask, or a decontamination combi after the future " Tchernobyl syndrom ", or just the commandant of the new Boeing avion in the french manifestation of the " Bourget"!
