Here's my studio. Tascam 2488mkii, Alesis Fusion 8HD, Akai MPC1000, Alesis M1 Active MKII, Marshall MXL990/991(not pictured), Sennheiser HD280 Pro, My Squier guitar and Yamaha PSR-D1 DJX aren't in the picture but they don't get much studio use anyway. Thanks Steve for posting the pics of your studio. You made me want to set mine up in this configuration. Thanks to others who have posted pictures as well. I've taken a lot of ideas from you all. Hopefully I'll have a laptop to add to the studio pretty soon. I'll post a new pic then. Oh, by the way the stand I'm using is the Quik Lok Z-555. Solid build and great accessories to be added as options. Later ya'll.

Nice and tidy. I have space for only one more thing in my little room.

I may be getting a laptop tomorrow but unfortunately I'll have to send the Tascam in to be serviced since the CD drive is not working correctly. Hopefully it'll be fixed under warranty even though the warranty is out.

100 % is interesting, too : you don't have to deal with silly OS and complex software. Only playing and recording is a good thing, IMO. Even if now I couldn't work without my beloved Samplitude !

Yeah, I like working this way. I've downloaded ACID 6.0 on my laptop but I don't really get it yet. I don't music creation on a computer is for me. I'm not in love with the Fusions sequencer but I can use it well enough to accomplish what I need to do. But, I can always use the MPC's sequencer instead though. I'm not going to send the Tascam in. I'd rather fix it myself since I can't get a price quote and it's out of warranty. The laptop is sitting to the right of the desk and is only being used for storage on the HD in my studio. I've added a set of MoPads for my monitors and that's about it. Nothing else new to report. I'd still like a bass guitar but I'm not too sure I'd have the space for it.

The 88-key Fusion just looks so nice. If I didn't have two 88-key controllers I could justify going for it... I keep saying that when I get an Andromeda, I'll just sell my A-80 and A-90 and get an 8HD and that will be the perfect setup

Beautiful set-up...super clean and the 8HD looks like a perfect fit on the Z-555.

Thanks. Man, that pic brings back some memories. I've moved out of that house so I now actually have a room now. I sold the MPC1000 and bought an MV-8000 in it's place. What an awsome machine. But I sold it as well for a MV-8800. I've also sold the Tascam 2488mkii and bought a VS-2400cd. Much more powerful than my previous machine and it looks right at home next to the MV. The only thing I don't like is that it takes up all of my space on the desk now. See: I have also bought a Korg Karma since then but I promised to sell it to my father when he's ready for it. So, I'm pretty much finished buying gear for now. Nothing else out there really has my interest other than a few things like Kurzweils PC3 series because I've never played on one and I'd like to see how they sound. I think the demos on the website are great, though. The Korg Oasys still fascinates me but not in the sound category. And last but not least, OPEN LABS. I like what they're doing. Anyway, thanks for the compliment.

lildave, If you don't mind, how is the build-quality of the QuikLok Z555 stand? I'm considering getting one to use the bottom table for an 88-key controller and getting the "2-tier arms" to hold my 6HD at a playable angle. I've only been able to find a couple of reviews online and they are mixed. Please let me know. Thanks

In my opinion I like desk but it is SLIGHTLY wobbly when purposefully shaken from side to side. That can be remedied with another cross bar at the bottom. Honestly, I wouldn't trade my desk for anything else out there. I like the looks and versatility of it.

...it is SLIGHTLY wobbly when purposefully shaken from side to side... Thanks for the info. My biggest concern would be if it is sturdy enough for playing my 6HD on the upper arms (that can be purchased separately...I think you are using them in your first picture holding up the MPC). If it is okay from "front-to-back," it sounds like it would work well. I'm still contemplating the purchase due to the depth of the entire stand and the space I wish to use. Thanks again

I can't talk about the Z555 but if the Quiklok QL 623 three tier stand that I have is anything to go by, their stuff is solid enough.
Even with my 8HD (bottom tier), K5000s (middle) and Andromeda (top), a total of about 135lbs/61Kg, it copes with some fairly exuberant playing without wobbling too much... The top two tiers will sway an inch or so from side to side when pushed deliberately but the bottom tier is solid as a rock.

Thanks for all the input. I'm using a Sefour XR600 right now and it has been a very good stand. My only issue with the XR600 is if I decide to get an 88-key controller, it will not fit on the pull-out shelf. Right now, I have a Miniak on the top of stand (as well as my mixer, a PadKontrol and a few other various devices) and it works out because the keys are not weighted and I don't use it as often as my 6HD (which is on the pull-out shelf). However, since I spend 99.9% of my playing sitting down, a weighted controller on the top of the XR600 would not be practical for playing (i.e., having to reach up to play weighted keys!). Another advantage of the XR600 is the relatively small "footprint" (over the Z555). However, like I said, if I go with a bigger board (e.g., an 8HD, a Kawai MP5, a Studiologic VMK-188 plus, etc.), it won't fit on the pull-out shelf or would be too high if it were put on the top.
