Hello. I'm also new to the board and wanted to say 'hi' to everyone. I've already posted some questions in other threads but thought I should come through the front door and say 'hi'.
I am 'this close' to getting a Fusion 8hd, but I wanted to ask how the action compares to other keyboards I'm familiar with: Alesis QS8, Kawai MP9000, and Roland RD-300sx. I don't have access to an 8HD (the only vendor I can find here in NYC who carries Fusions at all is J&R, and they only carry the 6hd). I realize describing an action is tough, but even just "heavier" or "lighter" would help. Or if the 8HD action is very similar to another board commonly carried by Guitar Center or Sam Ash, I can go there and check it out.
Thanks,
Doug

Well, the Kawai MP8 (which I have played) has the same action as the MP9000 doesn't it? The "Grand AWA"?
The Grand AWA has to be the best of any hammer action out there consequently, the 8HD is not that close IMO. From what I remember, the 8HDs action is similar but a little lighter then that of the Roland RD-300 you mentioned.

Hey, Shreddie, thanks for the reply. The MP9000 isn't graded (lower octaves heavier than higher), vs. the Mp9500, which is. I think it's the MP9500 which shares the action with the MP8. Sounds like both are "heavier" than the 8HD.
If the 8HD is close to the RD-300sx, though, that's great, IMHO. I prefer the RD-300sx action for a synth - heavier than a typical "synth" action, but not a real piano action a la the MP900. Would you say that describes it?
