I was reminded of this today.... Back in an earlier incarnation of FusionZone, someone joined to ask " Ok - can you take the Fusion's piano and warp it into a pad that morphs and floats into something atmospheric and menacing?" (or somesuch). Never one to resist a challenge, I said "YES[/b][/i]". Stock HGP through some whacked out filter being wobbled by mods and lashings of effects. Took about 5 mins as I recall! Steve

That was a one-off.
As I recall, the guy was something of a provocative 'doubting Thomas'/troll along the lines of "You lot think Fusion's so great, can you.....?" and this was submitted in the spirit of "Yes - now piss off" and I didn't even save the thing! It was a disposable exercise that took about 5 minutes and ISTR the guy had the good grace to admit defeat and was impressed. It was a long time ago when that forum was a battlefield.
But none of this is rocket science - that sound was achieved simply by making the attack and release longer and probably banging the sustain up, changing the filter type and messing with some controls, adding some LFO mod, whatever (I can't remember the details).
Come on ... roll your sleeves up and get jiggy with your Fusion and start thinking out of the box to create your own sounds to stamp your own identity on things rather than relying on others to build your personal library for you.

Seriously. You don't even need to be a Fusion fanboi to do that... any rompler that lets you change the volume envelope can change a piano sound into a pad... Seriously, a pad is the easiest and most generic signature of a synth... Glad you told the troll off using the Fusion as the means Speaking of which, I kennae wait to hear the Nebulae soundpack, soon as funds permit ordering. I highly doubt they're generic at all, judging from the replies I've read so far....
