Hey Guys! Does anyone have a lead sound similar to a Roland supersaw, (sort of like Scooter) or know how to program one in the VA? Cheers, Micky.

Hey Micky, do you have a link to exactly the sound you want? I'm guessing that a supersaw sound is what you get when you stack a bunch of full-on sawtooth sounds into one monophonic sound...? If it's the sound I'm thinking of, then it has a good bit of detune or heavy chorusing going on, right?
Well, here's a quickie I conjured up in about 10 minutes --
1) UTILITY ==> New Program (v. analog engine) 2) turn on all 3 OSC, all 100% sawtooth, 3rd one octave below 3) detune -4, +4, 0, also small random % to each one except OSC 3 4) various small changes to Volume and Filter Envs 5) PROGRAM/PITCH ==> monophonic (add small portamento settings)
Set filter cutoff down to about 50HZ, and only about 10% resonance. Use either the RP filter, or the standard LP filter, and choose between 4pole or 6pole. I also used a little bit (5%) of FM modulation, with OSC 1 & 2 getting modded from OSC3, and OSC3 getting its FM mod from the filter.
If you need fatter, you could always take this same sound and stack it with itself in MIX mode. I'd probably then also go in and change the detune amounts so each OSC has its own setting. Detuning gives a natural flange-type sound, which is a signature characteristic of the supersaw, right?
Too bad we can't make small attachments like single patches to posts like this. I can email or post on Rapidshare if wanted...

Hey psionic11!
Heres a link to Scooter's 'Nessaja'. It the lead after the '3am' line is shouted... .
Gonna try that algorythm tonight! Thanks pal.
You can email me the patch if you can emulate that sound!
Cheers, Micky. ;D

Good to see that the stars of 60's UK children's TV, Pinky and Perky, are enjoying a revival in their career 40 years on by guesting on a modern tune that has pretty much EVERY Ibiza anthem cliché wrapped up in a 3 minute soft porn video!!!! I'm assuming you're referring to the fizzy, stabby riff during the thumping bit where the bloke with white hair (Scooter?) starts shouting at us? It can be made on Fusion much like Psionic suggests but a quicker route is to use 'Happy Strings' from HS Freepack#18. The stock sound has a slowish attack as it stands but make that faster (and make release faster as well) and you pretty much have THAT supersaw sound. Add lashings of chorus and reverb! Store as 'Scooter Fizz' or somesuch! Steve

Yip, Thinking of doing a Bill and Ben retro mixfest extended remix at some stage. Flopadobulous! Ha! Tried using both methods, and a bit of tweaking I have something near the mark, using both in a mix sounds pretty cool! Thanks Guys! Micky.

Ah sweet, thx for that... =)
The other day I got all nostalgic and researchy about Nik Kershaw. I'd always loved "Wouldn't It be Good", and learned more in a couple of hours than I'd ever known about Nik thanks to YouTube and Internet research.
Thompson Twins was another group I'll admit to liking from the 80's (hopefully none of my metalhead buddies are reading this atm). I liked the voice, the melodies, the sound production, even the image. Possible to do an industrial throwback even nowadays, as the poofy big hair remains hardedge thanks to mohawks, dreds, and dye. Nice remix.
