Whilst not my "type" of music, very good nonetheless ;D Out of interest, how did you go about doing the Thompson Twins remix you have on there ?

Lordy! Bangin' tracks! Who said Fusion's no good for techno?!
I am curious about the TT remix too ... which is very good - I could take to the dance floor and do my embarrasing 'dance of the 50-yr-old' to that!

Ah......... Abit of cheating as such with the Twins remix! I took the original track, and as we all know, mastering and compression in the 80's was not as course as it is now, so the bass and drum elements are quietly embedded, eq'd the bass down in Reason, and that took care of the percussion too. Redid the do do da da bits, the melody, bass and drums..... sync'd the new track to the original, sped it up and as a result the pitch came up a tone. Made it much brighter think. I like the gated chorus line. I put it on Youtube and another guy took the track and matched it to the original video. Result!! So there are two versions, my mix and the video mix - collectively they have had over 50,000 hits!! Tom Bailey has a copy of it. That actually led me to collaborating with a guy in Canada called Thomas Donovan. He's fairly big there, and he contacted me after hearing the track! So, a song co-written by the two of us is being released on iTunes next week called "Pump Up The Love". Funny how things happen! Go to www.thomasdonovan.comThe one BIG gripe I have about the fusion is.... most of the sounds are ambient pads. Nothing wrong with that, they are brilliant, especially Steves stuff, Klaus's and Joeri's et al, but its missing those, how can I put it..... rolandy JP sounds, or polysynth detuned sounds that have an edge. That's what I am going to do with this baby and program it to have it! Working on it! Cheers, Micky!

Wow! That's fantastic stuff, Micky! Very well done! What did you use for the drums? And how about the Twins remix, what did you use for those drums? I'm using a Zoom RT-223 for my drums but my sound is rock, not electronic music. I've been flirting with the idea of doing that though... I've also pointed out recently, that there's not shortage of pads/ambient sounds for the Fusion! While we're still lacking in other areas. The Fusion can do ANY classic Roland sound as the VA section's really voiced with that in mind, it seems.

All the drums are roland tr-909 kicks and hats, the snare is a wizoo sample and its a processed and pumped up through Reason! Glad you liked it too!! :-)
I'm still working at the VA section, trying to get that sound. Taking me a while mind!!

In its preset form, it has a slowish attack/release but speed those up and you have the perfect, classic fizzy Ibiza anthem sound. The multi-sample is called 'Happy Strings' as well - use that as the basis for some techno stuff. Steve

Happy Strings is OK but the Fusion can be programmed to do much better than that in its VA section. I just haven't gotten quite there yet but I'm sure it can do it.
Micky, do you have an actual TR-909 or is that TR-909 samples??
Cheers, Tchuß

If anyone has any question that the VA section can do supersaw kind of sounds, check at about 2:30 in WC Olo Garb's first Ion video (same VA engine, actually with the Fusion you can stack up more oscillators I think):
Watch it in high quality, even though it compresses the sound a lot, you get a better idea.
