Well, finally got round to my first post 'kitchen sink home-recording ;D ... link below: www.4shared.com/file/57988781/b4e72c62/BLADERUN_END.htmlFusion voices used: Hollow Sun Preset B3(010) 'RP String Ensemble' Electrique's A2(001) 'Bladerunner' Electronica Preset L2(089) 'Landscapes' Backing is a midi I downloaded from the net & edited for drums, synth bassline & 'frills' *Wow & flutter noise at beginning is an unwanted extra courtesy of the Boss BR1200CD Digital Recorder ... must be something to do with the unit's hard-drive as it 'pulses' in time with the hard drive accessing led when recording using the line input for keyboard parts ... would love to know how to get rid of it ... the noise that is ... not the recorder! Would really appreciate some feedback on my first post ... still feeling my way Best Regards ... Rainbow

That is a very good kitchen sink I must say!!! :-) Are you connecting to the recorder via analog cable or via a usb interface?? The interface should get rid of any wow or flutter.
Micky!

Cheers Micky ... yes I'm using analogue cable from the Soundcraft mixer at the moment ... I'll check out a suitable usb interface ... thanks.

Nice to hear my sound in your cover. May there's some mix work to do ;-)

Hey electrique ... my chance to say thanks for a very authentic Vangelis sound ... definitely one of my favourites ;-) Any tips on the mix work? I am trying to get the best I can from a stand-alone recorder ... I really can't get on with the software options ... I just want a simple straight forward way of recording stuff ... don't want to spend hours trying to learn how to use software ... not too old or proud to take advice though ;-)
Best regards ... Rainbow:)

It's not you, who have to say thx. I got so much cool sounds by this (and still the another) board, HollowSun, KPR etc., it's a MUST to give the community something back. It was only a"drop on a hot stone", like germans would say. To your question: In my ears first you should set the volume of each instrument to a nearly similar level. There were important sounds I nearly couldn't hear. It's not that big engineering thing! Remember that the sound I rebuilt is not the only thing in this song

Hi electrique ... only a 'drop on a hot stone' ... maybe ... but a very cool drop nonetheless Thanks for the reply to my earlier question re: mix ... I understand now ... I can manage the levels OK with onboard sounds from the Fusion say ... but I couldn't previously make much adjustment to the imported midi file 'backing track' ... working this way has quite some limitations. However, even the Fusion sounds need more even balance in terms of volume level and I need to spend more time with these settings in future ... thanks electrique ;-) Best regards ... Rainbow:)
