soundclick.com/share?songid=6992823OBEAH(in 3 short movements) I. The Cleansing (the initiate has sex with the goat) II. The Ritual (the initiate slits the throat of the goat) III. The God incarnate (the initiate drinks the blood of the goat) and it's then and only then that the GOD incarnate reveals itself... My reconstruction of a ritual I witnessed in the jungles of Haiti in 2000: JPVIDEO style. The spirits asked me to fixate their divine presence in sound for all time to witness. Hence, OBEAH itself. 100% ALESIS FUSION 8HD with a little Theremin thrown in for good measure. All vocalizations performed by JPVIDEO, Nancy Coletti and Luwana Ogo. From 'SPOOKY ACTION AT A DISTANCE'. Have Fun and Enjoy. A boy and his goat: bands.soundclick.com/share/71702?share=truethe final solution: bands.soundclick.com/share/72046I really hate the rigorous schedule of recording sessions and now I am sad that they are over...

You're completely fucking bonkers JP but you don't half know how to put down a good track or three. That is very excellent on almost every level. If Fusion was still a current product, I'd be twisting Jim Norman's arm to have that on the audio demo section of the Alesis site ... and I wouldn't stop until he relented!
100% Fusion you say? I'm assuming the vocals were recorded elsewhere and the sequencing was external?
Either way, very impressive.

As I stated, all of the instrumental sounds (except the Theremin and shortwave receiver) were generated on the Alesis Fusion 8HD. The vocals (of course) were done with one expensive AKG vintage tube microphone recorded directly into ProTools. Glenn M. Taylor (recording engineer) and I are presently refining the technique of 'Digitally Controlled Analog Sound', as it seems to add a bit of 'warmth' and 'luster' to the production yet maintaining it's technical accuracy. The sequencing was ALL internal Fusion...of course there was some minor editing on ProTools 7.4.3 HD with the additional use of it's vast array of plug-in tools. I'm really glad you enjoyed this piece. That really means a lot to me. It was a lot of work and stressful to get the same feeling and metaphysical zeitgeist I had experienced all those years ago on that warm evening in the vespertine twilight of the Haitian jungle. "SPOOKY ACTION AT A DISTANCE' will most likely become the ONLY lasting artifact of the Alesis Fusion synthesizer... THANX!

Probably not my first choice of style of music as electrique says above ... Dr. John's 'Gris Gris' album is maybe the nearest I'd go for ... but what an impressive piece!! Great production on this and what a showcase for the Fusion and your high energy performance as witnessed in you accompanying video ... I wish I had as much fun recording as you do mate. Good luck with the forthcoming album by the way. Cheers ... Rainbow:)
