It's not quite the same, you can't just drop the volume folder in the same way you can on the PC. I can't remember the exact ins and outs as I don't have a mac but there are some minor differences.

on a mac you can't just drop the volume folder onto the root, cause if you do it will overwrite the Fusion's volume folder with the local zipped one and you'll loose everything apart from the new library. So you need to know a little bit about the file structure of the Fusion... If for example you take the Hollow Sun #18 pack and unzip it to somewhere convenient and open it in Finder, you will find it has a volume folder, and in that programs, samples and multisamples folders. (In fact a Fusion file structure in miniature with only the HollowSun #18 stuff in it) In each of those folders you will find a HollowSun #18 folder. To install this pack, you need to install these folders in the right places on the Fusion. So, connect your fusion, and open the fusion drive up in a new Finder window, navigate to the Volume folder, open that and open the Programs folder. You should see lots of sub-folders with all the different Program banks you already have. From the Hollow Sun unzipped folder navigate to the Programs folder and drop HollowSun #18 into the Fusion's Program folder. Now in the Fusion's folder navigate to the Samples folder and again in the unzipped HollowSun folder find the Samples folder and drop the HollowSun #18 Folder from there into the Fusion's Samples Folder. Repeat this for the Multisamples subfolder, dismount the Fusion drive from the mac, and then use the Verify process to mark and verify programs, samples and multisamples, and viola. All is installed. Hope that's clear. Cheers. M.

Are there any file formats that the Fusion WONT except? Well ... yes - everything other than *.afp, *afi and *.afs. If you have WAVs and/or AIFFs and/or Soundfonts, whatever, they're going to have to go via the Fusion Convertor first. Steve

Well I have the Hollow Sun stuff. Its some sounds i want to drop into the Fusion from a cd-rom of mine and some folders i have on an external hardrive. Are there any file formats that the Fusion WONT except? Yes, the fusion *won't* accept any audio file apart from Fusion format files. You need to create the Fusion format files from your CDROM source material using the Fusion converter program. Mac VersionAnd then, depending on the source material you will need to do either some tweaking or some major editing on the fusion to make it into a proper program. Soundfonts convert pretty well, and normally can be made playable with some tweaking to things like velocity. Akai stuff converts OK (some libraries better than others), but again you need to tweak velocity curves, effects, filters etc. Wav files convert fine to afs files and loop points are preserved too, you then need to set about mapping them across the keyboard, which is time consuming, but not hard, and then sort out things like velocity switching, filters, etc.

I GIVE UP! I tried to use the Fusion Converter and its a JOKE. I converted the files and "THOUGHT" it sent them to the Fusion. I disconnected the usb from the Fusion to check to see if the sounds where on the Hardrive and to my surprise, NOTHING. Same sounds there but not the ones I "THOUGHT" I added!

Do you know what the files the fusion converter created were called? Do a search for them with finder. See if they are in the right places. Did you mark and process samples multisamples and programs to verifty them?
Give us a heads up as to what type of samples (source format, etc) your are trying to convert, and I'm sure between us we can help you out.

Does anyone know if there is a video like the one Roberto did @ Failed Muso for the MAC installation of musical type data? It's Great!

Well my problem is "halfway" fixed. I found that the Fusion accepts wav. files that have been converted. The files i was having trouble with, was files i was using in Reason with extensions labeled .stx. THOSE files for some reason will not convert.
What i also noticed is that the files i imported are not on the black keys for some reason. I would like for those to be on the black and white keys like the normal programs in the keyboard.
