I've had a quick look at manual dont know if i have missed something, I want to split the keyboard I.e Bass on lower end and strings etc on upper end

I think you are only able to split the keyboard usin a mix or a song.
Using two tracks, select bass sound you want to use for track 1 and set the upper range for where you want the split.
On track 2, select the string sound and set the lower range to one semitone above the split.
Then assign the same link for both tracks.

Just to confuse: You can split in Program Mode by using the Key Tracking. It is possible to assign a Key Tracking separately for each of the 4 OSC's Volume, and this allows rather creative and floating splits too.

I guess the MIX/SONG mode would be the better choice for this use case.
