Hi All, I only knew about Fusionzone until I found Ron's helpful youtube vid about loading in sounds which advertised this place at the end. So here I am, looking to learn. I'm Phil and I recently bought a mint condition 6HD off ebay. It has the 80 gig HD and seemingly all the sounds available from Hollow Sun already on board. A wonderful bit of kit but I can see why a friend of mine who has one called it "a PC with a (music) keyboard"! One of my reasons for buying it was finding out about the polymoog vox humana sound set created to emulate the Gary Numan early 80s string sound - the band I play in play Gary Numan songs and, while we don't set out to emulate his sounds/arrangements exactly, that string sound is an integral part of some songs and no other keyboard has ever been able to imitate it. That said, I'm looking forward to finding out how to get the Fusion to do so much more than that in our set! We play everything live, with no tapes or sequencers, so it'll be interesting to see how the Fusion can help fill out our live sound. I look forward to finding things out from reading through the many posts on here. ANd I promise not to ask any dumb questions without looking through the board first... ;D Phil

Welcome Phil.
I think you'll find Fusion perfect for Numan covers and much, much more.

Ta very much for the welcome, Steve. The only thing that does annoy me about the Fusion so far is no sysex implementation meant no software based editors. I got used to doing everything on my PC with modern synths! But I guess when I get my head around the editing interface and sort out the sounds I want to keep, I'll get used to it! No pain, no gain - and it certainly seems a more than capable machine. Can't wait to use it on the road!

You wouldn't really need true sysex implementation like in the older synths because all you would need to do is create then drag and drop your finished project. However, the lack of a Fusion editor on the big screen is something I have felt, as well. However, I think once you start playing with it that you will find the workspace on the Fusion screen adequate for your needs and do far more than just "fill out" your live sound. If I had one of these things back in 1981 I could have altered time...

If I had one of these things back in 1981 I could have altered time... ;D Yeah I know what you mean! I just had a stylophone and a Casio VL Tone around that time... Getting a bit more used to the screen on the Fusion - I just find PC editing so quick and easy unless the synth has loads of knobs. Just old fashioned I suppose!
