Indeed it is really great!
Is this the first track from this new trio? Sounds so because it has this rare kind of initial power only a new project has.
Keep on doing this!

Great work ! It reminds me of some Tony Banks' solo project's songs. Very retro, as you said (mainly because of the drums sounds i.m.o.) but it's well done : the arrangement is goos, the voice is perfect, the mix is well balanced :-)

I liked this track! Shame-facedly though, as I'm old enough to remember that is sounds like Pet Shop Boys circa 1987. Actually for some reason the drums remind me of New Order's True Faith. That's no bad thing. It's a classic after all. More double-tracked vocal harmonies would do it nicely, maybe with some more production "whizz" to go the full Trevor Horn.

Thanks guys!
Loving the Tony Banks comparison! Brilliant! ;-)
Yeah, I would love to give it the Trevor Horn treatment, just don't have the means! lol.
You never know, if I ever get his number, I'll get him on board.
Actually, the whole premise of the tune was to make it sound really 80's retro, and you can't get more 80's than that particular drum set.
True Faith is an awesome tune, and PSB were just amazing! So, the influences are there and hopefully homaged in a good way.
Micky! :-)

The Full Trevor Horn requires a t-shirt marketing campaign ("Mickey says 'Where are you now?'") and to get a CD snapped in two on Radio One's breakfast show. Then sprinkle the word 'come' in the lyrics and have a homoerotic video. Guaranteed you'll be in the charts for 84 weeks.
Oh and buy a Fairlight.

Then sprinkle the word 'come' in the lyrics and have a homoerotic video. Guaranteed you'll be in the charts for 84 weeks. Oh and buy a Fairlight. That's a rather blinkered and un-educated view of Trevor Horn's work. "Relax" was just a tiny part of an immense career, spanning from his days as a musical arranger for Tina Charles, to his days fronting prog legends Yes, to producing landmark albums such as ABC's "Lexicon of Love", to his early ZTT work (which includes Frankie, Propaganda, ACT, etc) and his involvement with Art of Noise, moving onwards to his work with artists like Seal, Belle & Sebastian, Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones, Lisa Stansfield, David Jordan, Tina Turner, Shane MacGowan, Rod Stewart, Mike Oldfield, Simple Minds, Robbie Williams & Malcolm McLaren. To encapsulate his impact on the industry into a few months of 1983 is a tad silly. Trevor was the man behind the music, not the marketing. For that, you can blame one Paul Morley. And Trevor favoured the Synclavier over the Fairlight.

It's a beautiful thing guys. Have you 3 ever occupied the same space together? Make sure you never do because it may cause a rift in the time/space continuum.

Yes, you have the makings of a very good project here. Great song, great delivery.
I'm sure you're all old enough to realize golden opportunity when it happens, but I'd still strongly urge you to run with what inspiration and magic you have working together and just pump out the works while you can...
