Which is the best way to treat Alesis fusion when it crashes... I am not asking to be offensive or something... Just because the instrument crashes a lot, and I already send it once for repair... I am not sure which is the best way to handle the situation without making any more damage... Since it stops working and half of the lights are off, what I should do? Immediately shut it down or wait...? After the crash how much time should I wait before I switch it on? Thanks in advance.

Hi, Could you be a bit more specific ? When does the crash happen (loading, playing, booting, ...) ? Is everything Ok when you switch on again after a crash ? When it crashes, is it always the same lights going off ? When it crashes, what's on the screen ? Does the hard disk still run (you can hear it) ? When it crashes, I don't think it's urgent to switch it off but it might be good to wait for 20 or 30 s to swith it on again so that the capacitors may discharge totally.

Sorry I'm replying after all this time but I couldn't specify how that is happening. Mostly happens when I use the item explorer to transfer programs (I'm careful not to transfer programs that are already used in a song or a mix). Also, when I record songs in the song mode and load programs, or try to load a hole song. Most of the times is OK when I reboot. The lights are not the same, I think is random... The screen is off, doesn't show anything. The hard disk still runs.

The power supply is a weak part in the Fusion ; for some of us, everything is fine and others have unwanted crashes, reboot, lights dimming, ... Might be useful changing it !

Usually it crashes when the needs are a little bit more than the regular, for example when I use lots of synth & audio tracks in the song mode. When I reboot everything comes back to normal, except some random and unspecified error messages on boot or after a song load. Anyway I already send it once back to musicstore for repairing because I couldn't play/hear the piano samples... (all the piano sounds that where using the holy grail sample were unable to be played). After 3 years, since the day I bought it, even with all these problems I haven't regret buying fusion but the next instrument I am going to buy is going to be something more stable.
