I hear that they took over a year to render the 'light cycle' sequence. I can't wait.
I little nostalgia for the old folks...
REMEMBER: Before 'The Matrix' there was TRON. In 1980 I saw it 3 times in the theater. It was the 1st Computer Animated Film.

I for one CANNOT wait to see this!!!
I loved the first one in 1982, and it was the light cycle scene that did it for me. The new one looks absolutely amazing.

I am also really excited by this one!
I was a big fan (aged 11) of the original and I can still remember my cool Tron action figures which were transparent coloured plastic with glow in the dark details. I also had a rip-cord Light-cycle which was wicked . . .
The trailer for the new one looks amazing and I have high hopes for it. And in 3D it should be dazzling as the visuals are already (as they were in the original at the time) something completely different to anything else.
Does anyone remember the awful (or was it) Lawnmower Man?
;D ;D ;D

REVIEW: You didn’t really miss anything. The special effects were good but, it wasn’t as good as the first one. And the 3D effects were not as good as AVATAR. SCRIPT:It was like TRON meets STAR WARS meets THE FIFTH ELEMENT meets BLADE RUNNER meets SPIDERMAN. TOTAL CHEMICAL FORMULATION. CONCEPT:It wasn’t ‘heady’ either but, it’s Disney. What are you going to do? REACTION: I was dissapointed... They better start working on making better 3D production or their future will go down as another fad as it was in the fifties and seventies. I would rather see a clear crisp 2D image than blurry half 3D. This is the directors first major motion picture effort and I hope it is his last. Also, the soundtrack sucked. Daft Punk sounds like me testing out sounds on Spectrasonics Omnisphere in the music store. What were these people thinking? These were not polished compositions only a series of improvised electronic synthesizer jams. This is a movie that should have NEVER been made and their talking about a remake of Forbidden Planet? The new amateur generation of directors and producers who are 'silver spooned' son's and daughters of established film makers will fuck that up too. SCORE: Out of 1 to 10, I give the film a 5 for effort. TRON IS DEAD. LONG LIVE TRON...
