Very cool indeed! But I suppose the pitch thing is fake. I don't know any theremin player that plays as accurate as that. Still, it's pretty impressive. If only for the risk. Let's not think too hard about what would happen if something goes wrong with the grounding . If you're into Tesla stuff, check out www.tesladownunder.com. No, the pitch is controlled by MIDI, all the 'player' is doing is making a path to ground, the controller modulates the arc frequency Here's some background data on how it's done: www.stevehv.4hv.org/MusicalSSTCs.htm

Ok thanks, so the coil is driven by a pulse osc. Interesting! It's a heck of an impressive amp/monitor .
