;D Hello! I am rather new to this Fusion Club but wanted to let those Fusion owners across the pond in the USA that this exact replacement hard drive is available fom Tigerdirect.com for $69.99 and can add $6.95 for additional 2 year warranty, but already comes with an astounding 3 year parts and labor warranty. Tigerdirect is the best place at least in States to buy any gear like this, hard to find things and often offer DAW software at a clearinghouse price. Was even able to get a no solder exact drop-in/snap-in replacement LCD backlit screen for my Alesis QS8...off-topic perhaps, but any cousin to Fusion is a friend to me, plus, the QS8 has the best feeling weighte keys and being 48, have played piano since 3 years old...and use the QS8 as a midi controller as I currently only have the Fusion 6HD but on the look for an 8HD so that can be master instead. here's the direct weblink for the same hard drive parametric aforementioned in OP....http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5374842 Hope this helps some people out, even if wanting to replace your early production Fusion's 40 GB HD to 80. I do have a question though; the exact match I gave is to the "t" with an 8mb cache, however Tiger claims the exact HD is available with a 16mb cache, making it more efficient--would that be compatable for the Fusion or did Alesis make it limited to the 8mb in the same way the limit in CF card size is to 2 GB? Thanks all...love reading posts and learning so much from your wisdom and tips! Peace!

The amount of cache memory built into the hard drive will have no effect on the fusion, it will just be a more efficient and possibly a faster hard drive.
