because the hard drive of my Alesis Fusion no longer work properly (problem while starting the fusion), I wanted to fix this and I have soldered some contacts. Unfortunately I could not remember the contacts for the power connector exactly and I didn't make a photo. Are the contacts between the positive and the negative terminal directly connected with solder (among them are some small capacitors) or are the capacitors need to be "free" of solder (not covered - see photos)? This is the result: Power Digital - capacitors covered Power Main - capacitors covered Is this correct or can someone send a picture of the power supply from the digital extension or the mainboard? Or is this the correct result? Power Digital - capacitors free regards Daniel

I don't have any pictures of the bottom of the boards but it seems to me that if you cover the capacitors (if that is what they are) then you are in effect shorting all of the power lines together and that would be rather disastrous.

Have you actually shorted the connections with half a tonne of solder? - That's what it looks like. If there were different coloured wires all coming off those connections, I would be prepared to bet that they are not supposed to be shorted together, and electronic damage will ensue if this is turned on.

fully concur with Markone
SUGGESTION: time to get a solder-sucker/solder-wick and get ALL that solder off of there and get a clean look and clean start at whatever you are trying to do.
Of course this assumes that whatever is underneath that blob of solder or in near vicinity wasn't destroyed by the heat!
good luck larry

Those are the Digital PCB & the Main PCB, not the power supply, I don't have any pictures of the under side of those two Fusion PCB,s but I do have a picture of the underside of the power supply PCB. Attachments:

Hi Jesse,
is this the picture of the PMC part you ordered from Akai? If so, do you know if the is the "upgraded" power supply? (Not sure whether its possible to tell though...)
Thanks

Based on a previous thread fusioneer.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1247&page=1I spoke to Alesis UK who gave me a part number. I confirmed it with Justin. He's a bit tied up first thing back after the weekend and a shedload of email to wade through so he's has asked me to tell you that the part number is : 9-79-0361 According to AUK, the price is £37.50 if the fault is out of warranty but speak nicely to them - they may be agreeable to waiving that. No guarantees on that though. Over to you. Steve I believe this is the new improved PSU, at least it has the same part number 9-79-0361 The price from akai Pro is $98 + S&H
