Hi - Have been tinkering with my own programmed arpeggios, bass sequences and drum machine patterns, but have some quirks to throw out there for advice....
Phrase Arp:
After painstakingly programming a 5/4 bass sequence (yes, 5/4, I'm a prog rock fan), I save the arp, I save the program, and yes, what I want plays back ok on repeat, on hitting a key. So, happy days and I got what I wanted recorded onto my DAW.
But... when I go back under the bonnet, under edit, to look at all my hard work, I see everything has converted to 4/4, including notes in Event, i.e. it has defaulted to it's initial settings - however, the sequence still plays back ok.
This is ok if you're never going to re-visit or re-edit, after all its been recorded elsewhere, but not so if you do want to tweak again or use the ideas for something else, and you can't remember what you've done!
Is this normal? Do I have to live with it?! Or am I missing something??
Drum Machine:
Similarly, I'm trying to record short 1 bar phrases of full drums in a pattern, to record as clips to my DAW. I've done one so far and the only way I can get it to play back is to be in the Record screen, and hit the play button. They too also default to 4/4 settings after I've saved, exited the program, and gone back to it. For some reason this particular pattern is not triggering from a key and is not looping right (as did my bass sequence above) which it should do even though the time signatures are lost (and yes, this drum part is suitably mad, it being in 10/8!).
Does the "Drum Machine" arp option not loop automatically, or am I missing something again? I don't really need it to loop - I can record a one shot as a clip, but it would be handy to know.
The reason for me doing drums this way is that I get the full benefit of fusion's effects on the sounds and the full drum pattern will only take up one track on the DAW (as opposed to one track per instrument if I record drum sound by drum sound into the DAW). I'm on a tight budget here!!
