And another thing...
The left wheel, the pitch bender, has lost its firm centre detent, i.e. the centre detent know spans at least a semitone if not a bit more.
So if I'm using it I have to nudge it into place, within the detent area to get the fusion in tune with everything else.
Not an ideal situation - thank God I'm not playing live - and I guess this is a physical repair job, i.e. it's not a setting that I've switched accidentally??
Any ideas?

Hi Steve,
Are you saying the actual "Physical feel" of a notch at the centre seems to have disappeared - and the wheel feels the same as the Mod wheel - i.e NO notch?
If <yes>, then it sounds like something has come undone inside. Its been a while since I opened my 8HD - so I can't recall how they do this . . .
however, if its just "not in tune" when the pitch wheel is centred, I DID have that problem once, and it was cleared by doing a <Power-ON> whilst holding down <Rec + Play> This will reset global parameters to default values.
N.B. If you have set any of the Global settings such as the keyboard touch, to your own preference, then make a note of them BEFORE you do a reset - as they will all be reset . . . .
Hope that helps
Best Regards

The pitch wheel has a spring to return it to center, if the pitch wheel is not returning to center the spring may be broken or disconnected.

Thanks for your help parametric and Jesse - my problem is a bit of both, it's not gone like the mod wheel, it detents, but there is about 4 - 5mm of detent, and when moved the pitch variation is about a semitone at least.
I'll try the re-boot, but I think it is more physical, i.e. the spring has given way a bit. Looks like a repair job if the re-boot doesn't work.
Surprised it's gone so soon - I was once criticised for not soloing wildly enough...I must have taken that to heart and busted my pitch wheel!!

If the Pitch Bend Wheel is a bit loose and the Pitch Range is setted to 12 semi-steps it can sound terrible when trying to get back into the correct center position after using the Wheel. If the Range is set to 2 semi-tones the "bad tune" effect is less terrible A loose PB Wheel spring is typical for the Fusion when using the Wheel heavily. I had this twice and in both cases the Alesis Service fixed that. So: It is a physical repair job. Perhaps you can do it yourself, it might be not too complicated for someone with technical skills.
