Hello guys, Since I bought a "third hand" Alesis Fusion 8HD Klaus Schulze version yesterday (for only € 670), I though it would be a good idea to join this forum. The Alesis looks brand new, couldn't even find one scracth on it.
I own a Korg M3 + Radias board, Roland Gaia and Korg Microstation which all have very good sound samples, but man.....the Alesis keeps suprising me (and this is just after one day...)
I have over 15Gb of installed samples on this machine (were included in the buy) and what I've heard so far --> impressive!
So now it's time to explore this machine further coming weeks/months.....

Welcome to the Forums - mabo,
That's a good price - sounds like you have a bargain . . . .
Much has been said and written about the Fusion - not all of it flattering.
I DOES have its idiosyncrasies, but it is very deep and capable and will repay time spent finding out what it can do . . . .
Whilst I would be the first to say that one can never have too many Voices (Programs - in Fusion-speak) it can be a bit if a double-edged sword, inasmuch as you may find it difficult to find the time to actually write any MUSIC . . . ;D
That said - you are in for an exciting time with your new 8HD
The Keybed is superb (IMO) and just begs to be played . . . .
Forum members in here are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and will be able to answer most questions you may have as you go along . . .
Best Regards

Thanx for the warm welcome guys! Yes, I'm convinced I really have a bargain. I've read a lot of reviews but when I saw/heard the demo's on youtube and this one came available, I couldn't resist on buying. Had to drive 250km (bought in Belgium) but untill now it is worth every bit. When you check the dutch ebay (marktplaats) you rarely seen an Alesis for sale and if so they're sold within one week.... Question : does anybody know how many Alesis Fusions approx. have been made/sold? Meanwhile I've posted my first (quick) song with the Alesis on my youtube channel. Nothing complicated, just some basic chords... For those who are interested : www.youtube.com/watch?v=flOHpYpsWYI or www.youtube.com/user/mamojula/videosI must say : It's been a long time since I've played on full weighted keys, damn it's hard work.......I definitly need to work out...but the keys feel/play really great. ..and if someone is interested in some programs, I'm willing to share some (for free of course!!) Just send me a PM and we'll see what can be arranged.

very nice mabo, was that all done on the Fusion or was it a mixture of your Fusion and Korg M3?

Hi Jesse, Yes, it was a mixture of the fusion, M3 and my VP7 (see below)
Bass and drums : Korg M3 Choirs : Roland VP7 All others : Alesis Fusion
As far as I've discovered now, the drum section of the fusion is not as powerfull as the M3. The M3 has far more drum patches and I think the drum kits of the M3 are better (=my opinion). Of course music and sound is always a matter of personal taste......
