Very interesting - and a nice sound too . . . .
So yar boo sucks to the Hurdy-Gurdy and the "Gizmo".
This thing pre-dates them both . . . .
Nothing new under the sun - so to speak . . . ;D
I wonder what Leonardo would have made of the Fusion?

I'm not a guitarist, but even so, at the time (1973), I couldn't understand why the Gizmo didn't take off, big-time. I loved the sound of it when it was used on 10cc's albums, then I read the Wiki article:- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_GizmoBesides the setting up correctly and the (non-replaceable) wheels wearing out there was the point of them breaking into pieces over time. . .
