For a 'back to basics' tutorial on analogue synthesis, there's THIS wot I writ for Alesis some time ago. It won't tell you HOW to make any given sounds but it explains how all the different bits and pieces work. This kind of thing is what used to come with synths back in the early 70s and it's how I learnt. It's a foundation for almost EVERYTHING. Steve

I remember those booklets. I got one from somewhere once, maybe picked it up in a music store.

Yes, the PDF Steve mentioned is a great synthesizer basics eBook and I recommend it like the "Analog Synthesis" by Reinhard Schmitz. The same is the mentioned "Sample This! Edition Three" as well as a few FM tutorials downloadable from DX7 sites.
And it is a good idea to read all this, I did it and although Steve wrote tutorials he also read books. This means: An own tutorial archive is a must have for everyone who really want to know what happens when turning a knob on any synthesizer.
Back to the Fusion Secrets: Everything inside this book is Fusion related.
More about this next week!
Cheers

Update info:
As mentioned the Fusion Secrets is planned to release it in spring and as for the weather here it still looks and feels like spring. Progress is very well and although I still have no official release date we can consider the availability pretty soon.
There is another new sound product too, I didn't mention it here and it will be a surprise, that's for sure, and I don't think that someone has an idea what it could be.
Cheers
Klaus

The Fusion Alpine Pack, with Alphorn, Accordion and Yodel samples?
Bring it on!
(you really WERE asking for it when you said we couldn't guess. How could I resist?)

Or maybe it's the Fusion Appalachian pack -- washboard, banjo, and yodel samples? ;D

What about the lederhosen though?

Sometimes I go to the Bavarian region, the Milo's Craving guitarist is living there and usually we do some recordings in his studio, and indeed there are still people wearing the Lederhosen. Not in his studio though. I must admit that it looks quite funny, but their faces are looking very serious, so I'm pretty sure that I must be wrong,
But believe it or not, once I was at the Mount Jacinto, it is located near Palm Springs, California, and it was October 3. They celebrated the Octoberfest up there and they had an accordion player wearing Lederhosen as well. So you never know, the Lederhosen can happen anywhere ;D

Frankfurt Messe is the place for the Lederhosen - there's a whole hall (or floor?) devoted to accordians and all sorts of weird and wonderful related instruments - there's a lot of Lederhosen to be found there!

So, it's time for another update info:
As you can notice, the Fusion Secrets book is still in progress, although I planned a release even for end of may in the first place. Don't worry, there were just a couple of additional chapter content additions to write, more sounds to program, and other things suddenly on the schedule too. The release is not far away though.
A new sound product comes: I didn't announce it earlier, it is already done, Julia is now uploading the data to the download server and I am doing the usual audio track tomorrow. Then an announcement posting with all details will follow. You will be really surprised about this new thing!
That's all for now, have a nice week!

Just returned from a short business trip and now polishing the Fusion Secrets book content and uploading the concerned sample and sound data to the download server. Greetings from a pretty busy man Klaus P.S.: Just found out that we have a new friend sitting in front of my wife's office window. Looks that this guy is a bit hungry!
