Arguably the finest representation of the legendary Moog Taurus Mk 1 bass pedals is now available at Hollow Sun for a mere $20. This has been a project long in the making, sourcing a good example of this and I found one in Paul Ward, a fellow Genesis enthusiast who has a pristine example of the Mk1 original. Available for Kontakt, Akai S5/6000 (and hence Akai Z4/8, MPC4000 and MPC5000V2) and Alesis Fusion. With sumptuously long samples lasting up to 20 seconds before a seamless loop kicks in for every note over its full three octave range with the real low end descending into subsonic clicks, this is pretty much a definitive depiction of this classic instrument with some serious low end. You can see details HERE and get your copy. My thanks to Rob and Dan for testing. Cheers, Steve

Hmmmm I gotta try this one out! I'm going to be out of town for about a month but when I come back I definitely plan on getting it... cuz of course I do have a Roland PK-5 that hasn't been used much lately

I purchased this one, and being a Rush fan, it sure is fun playing the big Taurus sound using my FCB footpedals to trigger the notes while I play guitar =)

Steve, just to let you know, some of the low notes are placed incorrectly. The low Bb is actually a low A, the low A an Ab, and so on... The easiest way to tell is to play octaves starting at say low C, then low B, etc. You'll notice the huge beating effect from playing a dissonant octave. Fixable from this end, of course, by going into a territory I rarely venture into (the sample engine), but for the sake of future purchasers I thought you'd like to know.
Otherwise, good sounding sample. I needs me a subwoofer, now, methinks =)
