At the back of the Fusion, there is a SATA connector. Did anybody successfully connect a disk there? What disk was used or needs to be used and how was the performance: better than the internal IDE disk? Lot's of questions... Thx!

So far I do not know of anyone who has been able to get the external SATA port to work, Alesis has not enabled it. The only time anyone was able to connect to an external SATA drive was in diagnostic mode.

That's about the size of it . . . .
At NAMM 2005, Alesis stated that the external SATA HD, and the CDR facility were promised for OS 2.x - so its looking pretty unlikely. Shame really . . .

I tried it some time ago. The external disk is recognized, but Fusion sees it as the internal disk and when the Fusion formats it, it also formats the internal disk, hence losing all your data. Luckily i made a backup before i tried it, so i could put everything back on the internal drive.

So maybe it is possible to remove the internal drive and just use the external drive?
What were the specs on the drive you used?
How did you Power the drive?
