Does anyone know of a tutorial anywhere covering the four Assign knobs in the Performane Section? (and S1,S2 and T1,etc...)
I've made some changes, but don't really have a great understanding of how to achieve what I want. I'm primarily trying to use ASSIGN1 for Cutoff and Assign2 for Resonance control.
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but I should point out that I am a newbie with regards to this particular synth (and I'm not finding the manual as helpful as I had hoped)

Sorry to reply to my own post, but I've managed to stumble upon the Filt Cutoff & Filt Resonance settings under Program: Edit : Mod: Add Mod: But I still would like to know of any worthwhile tutorials aimed at a relative beginner

I'm the writer of "My Fusion Secrets" and there's a 3 page chapter that covers the Modulation Matrix. If it's just that what you need to know, then I can explain here how the Controller Knob assignment works. Let me know.

Thanks for the reply kpr.
To be honest, I think I have got a little ahead of myself. I think I need to learn to walk before I try to run. I've underestimated the huge power of this synth and I need to slow down a bit and stop trying to learn all the advanced stuff first. My aim should be to get a solid understanding of the basics and only then start to play with the advanced features.
It is only just beginning to dawn on me what an incredible instrument this is!

Thanks for the reply kpr. To be honest, I think I have got a little ahead of myself. I think I need to learn to walk before I try to run. My aim should be to get a solid understanding of the basics and only then start to play with the advanced features. It is only just beginning to dawn on me what an incredible instrument this is! I know where you are coming from . . . I've had my 8HD for nearly 4 years now and have only peeked under the bonnet a couple of times. . . There is so much to like about the Fusion - from the keybed of the 8HD (I'm a pianist, fundamentally) to the ease of getting stuff in and out (Audio and Midi). I have quite a number of Klaus' commercial offerings which are wide ranging and inspiring - and together with the packs from Hollow Sun - there is quite an arsenal available to meet your needs and aspirations. To be honest, its the making of Music and the sheer joy of playing the Fusion that has kept me from delving inside . . . Sadly, the large Manual is a huge disappointment, insasmuch as it is little more than a list of menu options - with almost NO explanation of WHY you would want to use them. Do a search for <Psionic>'s Fusion Pages. There are quite a number of them. He's a fairly regular member either here or in the FusionZone. Its a mixed bunch of tips that he's written down as he discovered them - and they are commendably useful. At some point I shall succumb to Klaus' Book - as there is little he doesn't know about the inner workings of the Fusion . . . . his sounds back this up. So . . Welcome to a rather exclusive club . . . Best Regards parametric

yup, gekorgy Well said, and welcome to the club. Nearly everyone underestimated the Fusion's powerful engine in the first place, and as Jesse underlined: The Beast
