My 6HD has developed an issue that leads to sounds with effects suffering in quality. eg the holy grail piano has a reverb tail laced with noise. I read a post some time ago, probably at fusionzone, that seemed similar but I haven't located a solution. I'm guessing there may be a connection with the fx chip failure issues and I'm going to have to try some smd surgery to be fully working again. Any help/input would be greatly appreciated.

Did you receive an error message about the FX chip?
Were you recording a song or just playing the program?

I realise I could have explained that better. No errors, just audible noise in a number of patches including rom presets. The preset I've been playing with to explore the 'effect' is E-3 034 Picked Fretless Bass. From the outset it sounds like 'surfs up' but if you press the program button and use the second knob for the master EQ change big breakers worth of noise come in and the reverb tails off into a buzz, play a chord and the resulting buzz is more complex and metallic. For sure this is the worst example I've found but once identified the 'effect' is present in a number of patches. My Fusion was in storage and I don't recall the anomaly there before. Investigation has narrowed it down to the bus effects and the Plate and Room reverbs seem to be the cause. The noise is the same on either bus. Being able to overwrite the rom preset (which I don't believe I can do) would allow an elegant work around as increasing send and reducing return allows a similar effect to the original but with less of the noise. Contemplating whether Cool Audio V1000s are interchangeable for the Wavefront chips and more robust. I intend to hook up to ADAT and verify my certainty that it's digital and then I should really put some audio examples up here so I don't sound mad!!!

Try saving the program by a slightly different name (programname mod1) in your User Folder and make whatever changes you want to your new program, it will still use the samples and multisamples from the original program and original location Remember bank names can be no more than 16 caracters & program names can be no more than 16 caracters including spaces, I believe this is correct?
