I'm posting this for information, purely as I am presently hoping to fix one non-working key on my recently acquired 6HD. I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that the Fusion's keybeds use the same contacts for the 8HD and the 6HD - hopefully its true. This site: www.bustedgear.com/part_key_contact_strip.html#KCS10 does have a step by step guide for the Roland D50 and the Korg Karma which is very well done, with good clear photos . . They also sell the contact strips - which look to me to be "right" for the Fusion as seen in a recent .pdf produced by a user in this or the other forum. As regards Alesis, only Andromeda, Ion, and the QS Series are mentioned, sadly not the Fusion, but I am hopeful that the contact strips ARE the same . . . I shall enquire of Richard Diemer his opinion on this. I think the above guides are very well done, and should give a good idea of how to get at the contacts, to repair or replace them as needed . . . How many different ways of assembling the keybed/pcb/contact strip can there be . . ? Anyway - hope it helps someone . . . parametric

Alesis Fusion affectionately known as "The Beast" Chris, you might want to check with Taiho Yamada as well I had a brief FB conversation with Taiho - wishing him well for 2017 . . . . In connection with the 8HD - he recalls TP-20 for the keybed from Fatar . . . Unsure about the 6HD, but suggests "contemporary" to the TP-20 As for the MIDI Data format - He has no documentation for it, but did wonder if anyone had tried reverse engineering to make an editor? I imagine CS have got somewhere with it , but are probably unlikely to share what they have ? Probably the only way is to send the standard commands one by one to the Fusion and see WHAT responds? - and write them down . . . . parametric
