Why buy analog? Mar 8, 2021 0:41:33 GMT

Playing today through the hundreds of sounds I have quickly installed on both my 8HD's in the last month or so-I noticed a few things. All the analog sounds will load instantly-as these are not sampled-and sound pretty d*** nice, and some better than their sampled equivalents. I found a few programs labelled "why buy analog" as a I chuffed through dozens of sounds that emulate the ARP Oddysey, my old Pro-One Sequential circuits, a Prophet or 2, the Moogs and a few others-all using just the analog synth engine in this monster. You know-the Behringer re-issues that are coming out now which I had been eyeing-until I did some real careful listening-and wore my ears out in the process. Amazing. Behringer-how about re-issung the Fusion? I also came across a few factory sounds-wormhole for example-the most complex evolving sound I've ever heard anywhere, even on sevarlsynths at once... I don't usually spend 5 minutes listening to one sound-but my gawd!!! it took 5 minutes to hear all the dimensions of this one program-and it isn't even a multisample, or a sample. It's an analog program. I've auditioned thousands FM sounds from my SY77 over the years-including the best commercial sounds, unique programmer's sounds and my own. There is an FM sound in this Fusion-I think it was in Bank 4 or in the bank labelled "more" I've never heard anything like it. I did not think FM could create a sound this complex, even the 6-op SY77. As Spock used to say.....fascinating!
