Unfortunately, being a free board, the host earns its revenue to support the service from adverts ... which is fair enough - they are not a charity!
I hope you don't find the ads too obtrusive.
What you will find, however, is that over time, the ads become 'context sensitive' and related to the content of the board so maybe you might find some ads useful.
