Hi all, Well I just got my Fusion 8HD and it plays like a dream. I really like this machine. Unfortunately it came with some light but noticable blemishes on the silver faceplate. The vendor offered a $100 dollars off of the $1500 I paid for it, if I decide to keep it. I'm trying to decide if it is worth replacing the Fusion for another with the possibility of just another blemish or problem arriving at my door. I do think it was UPS's fault because the packing looked pretty good to me. The machine seems to be working fine. My question to you all: Are your Fusions arriving in great shape or are you living with a few blemishes here and there too?

Hi,
Your call really. I can't say I am aware of them arriving cosmetically damaged as a matter of course (their cartons are very sturdy) so it's up to you whether a scratch is worth $100 (and the inconvenience of sending it back, waiting for a replacement, etc.)!
Mind you, I might be a bit peeved if the blemish was really obvious and right in my line of vision. On the other hand, if it's all working fine and it doesn't bother you too much.....
Dunno - your call!

My personal feeling is that I don't care what the synth looks like, so long as it all works - so I'd say give your Fusion a thorough checking over for signs of potential physical damage... but if it all seems OK, then hold out for $150, just because it's a nice round 10% Seriously, though, if you're sure that cosmetic damage is all it is, then I'd take the discount - and if it plays like a dream, it sounds like you might be in luck. (But do check that you still have the usual warranty for any faults that might develop after that point.)

I have registered. ;D
Yes, I can see the blemishes in three places right where the white foam packing holders were resting on the silver face plate. Must have been caused by a lot of pressure put on the Fusion box and packing during shipping. I'm guessing that most of you do not see any blemishes like these, so this is just a dumb luck thing. Well as long as UPS didn't knock around the unit too much it will probably be OK down the road. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I'm guessing that most of you do not see any blemishes like these, so this is just a dumb luck thing. Sounds/looks like :-( Fusion has had it's fair share of complaints in the past but not this one to my knowledge! Well as long as UPS didn't knock around the unit too much it will probably be OK down the road. My suggestion would be to just sit with it now and give it a good working over. * DO NOT be tempted to download stuff from the net to convert into Fusion format. * DO NOT go buggering about with the contents of Fusion's internal HD over USB on your PC/Mac. * DO NOT try installing any new material (including any HS material) Live with it 'as is' and ensure it's all working to your satisfaction for a few days ... maybe a week. If it all shapes up, any damage is most likely purely cosmetic and it's up to you to live with that or not. I'm with Gwen - negotiate for $150 ... or maybe a free memory expansion board for your trouble and distress!!! This experience has no doubt traumatised you irreparably Joking aside, the dealer should have supplied you with a perfect unit - it's up to them to sort it out. A rebate or a freebie is in order (or a replacement if you simply cannot live with the blemishes). Your call. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Glad to help ... is why we're here. And welcome to The Club. Steve

I would ask the dealer for $200 off if everything is working but be carefull. I purchased a B stock unit that looked fine initially. Three days after I had the unit I finally noticed a dent in the front. (you could only see it on certain angles) I had been playing with headphones and never noticed until I saw the dent that some black keys near the dent were making a claking noice. No problem on the return, *Same Day Music" issued a call tag. ( I also decided on a new unit. Your Fusion if shipped back would now be a "B" stock unit and most places charge $200 less than a new one. (8HD)
