Has anyone heard if there is an editor/librarian under development for the Fusion? I have bought Fusion Converter Pro, and am awaiting it anxiously. I have a crap load of reason nn-xt and kurzweil samples that I am dying to get on the fusion.
But a nice PC based GUI editor/librarian would rock for this rig. Punching soft keys through menus can sometimes be a endless task it seems...

Nice to SEE you here, eyestalk.
I have heard nothing about an editor/librarian program. Of course I would rather push buttons and turn knobs than mouse atound on a little screen anyday!

Unfortunately, as things stand today (and I suspect, as they will remain). There is no MIDI SysEx capability on the fusion, so there is no way to remotely manage the UI, or to dump data across MIDI as most librarian/editors do.

Has anyone heard if there is an editor/librarian under development for the Fusion? There is no editor being developed. A Fusion user (Marcos) has done a Windows app for assisting with arranging data on Fusion's HD however : www.harmonysys.com/fusionsort/FusionSortSetup.exe Being a Mac user, I have no experience but I believe it's very useful and works pretty well. But a nice PC based GUI editor/librarian would rock for this rig. Punching soft keys through menus can sometimes be a endless task it seems... Well... horses for courses - some people can't abide adjusting controls with a mouse But I take your point though - an editor would be welcome. I wouldn't hold your breath though Steve

Indeed. Didn't someone say that the Fusion has no SysEx implementation at present? That would appear to be a prerequisite for an editor, especially given that the Fusion turns into a hard drive when you plug in a USB cable. I'm lucky here; I prefer editing synths on their front panel - it's just more immediate - and I find the Fusion very intuitive for that. However, I know I'm in a tiny minority there

Sad but true, unless Alesis isn't giving us a SysEx implementation (I was so naive to think that any synth had a sysex implementation) - we're stuck...
It also seriously limits the use of the Fusion with an external controller.

Couldn't a sysex implementation be worked into an OS/firmware update? If demand is there and it would improve the instrument, I think it should be looked at.

I think a sysEx implementation would also somehow relieve Alesis from various annoying questions, because Fusion fans like ourselves can start to develop our librarians, editors etc.
