this is a list of fixes id like to see in future upgrades id like to see in the fusion's os. i have sent this to alesis tech support but haven't seen anything yet. i was just wondering if any of this can be done by shortcuts i haven't found or anything like that, that would make my workflow alot faster.
1. being able to use the category button in song mode, even if you have to have the bank or voice selected in the track screen (like it's set up now).
2. fix the replace record mode. when the loop is enabled for a track, when it loops it records over what you have. I usually use an mpc1000 to sequence but when i do sequence in the fusion, it makes more sense to have the replace mode go into overdub mode after a loop so you don't lose the beginning of you track.
3. the tempo adjustment is too sensitive. sometimes i want to have my mac or mpc1000 the same tempo (not in mtc or midi locked) but just at the same tempo so the delays and some other time based fx line up right. i guess all four knobs seem to react just a little bit fast for some things. but the tempo is the biggest burden for me sometimes it takes 30-40 passes to get the exact tempo. (seriously)
4. i can find a way to adjust the pitch bend parameters in song mode (maybe i just missed this one). there should be no reason to have to find you sound in program mode, change the bend to 1 octave going down and 2 keys going up(or what ever) then save it to a user program and the have to find that again in the song your working on.
5. this kinda goes with the last one. i like the editing options in program mode you can tweak everything and see all your lfo's and filters etc. . why not have this flexibility in song mode. the basic and sometimes trial and error of adjusting only 1of 8 parameters for a program in song mode is way too limited, it seems like this keyboard was built to have a pretty much limitless sound palette and the 40 track hyped up sequencer is nuts for an all in one box, but it seems like there not even in the same keyboard sometimes.
6. I'm not sure if this one would need some type of hardware change in the fusion, if so we all know that's not going to happen, but if its possible to have a menu to do bounce downs from midi to audio with out going out of the keyboard and back in. nice. I'm a fx man myself (a lot of subtle fx) and the fusion has a good amount simultaneously but not enough for me. this would open up fx channels and in some cases i like to stack sounds, like having 4 different programs play the exact same bass part. in that instance it would also open up more midi tracks for someone.
5. being able to "print" (or what ever you would call it) fx to a individual sample in the sample section would be a very welcome addition. that would really livin' up some drum samples with out taking fx spots or processing power away.( i like the stack distortion on drums, toned down)
6. this one should be an easy fix. the way i start my songs is i go into program mode and get one of those big beefy sounds and convert that to a song so i have at least 1 detailed sound to start out with. cool. but there's no way to go get any more juiced up sounds and add it easily to that or any other song you have. ( taking into account that there enough fx slots left for the new sound.) you could do this by coping additional sounds form program to a song.
7. this is also an easy fix ( i hope). it seems the undo button is only for "system" changes. if i accidentally replace record over one of my tracks i cant just undo that. i might spend 20 or 30 mins. getting a track perfected and a hour later -BAM- erased with no means of recovery, whats that all about.
8. putting a copy and paste in all the label menu's would make life a little easier when naming multiple songs or what have you.
9. i' v been told several times that this hasn't been observed by any one else but when I'm running say, maybe 4 or more tracks, all midi, keyboard playing, i get a very very short delay when i do things like mute sounds or scroll through tracks in the edit screen. i don't do live shows so who cares, but if i were to track live into my mac, doing live mutes, these short delays in the sound would add up and throw the song out of sync. and i know its not just me because my friends hear it too.
10. i wanted to change out the hard drive for maybe something to the tune of a 120 gig, is that possible?( i own a lot of sounds, over 40 gigs, and always want more).
Thanx for any help, anyone and hopefully some of this will be resolved in updates.
