Well, I'll introduce myself: I'm Phil. I've had my Fusion for about 8 months now and I figure its time to get into the nuts and bolts of it. The main reason I'm here is because:
A) some patches I made form scratch have awful digital clipping sounds when the EGs close
B) Most patches but not all retain the previous filter setting that I just adjusted on the last patch i was on an there's no way to get it back where it should but when i change to a different patch the filter settings appear as if they've gone back to zero, I can't recall if it did this on the previous OSs.
C)I can't figure out how to make the arpeggiator drive other devices, it just plays the notes I hold down.
and I basically just want to be able to get the most out of it and see if there's any other useful information or suggestions as well as share my experience or my own user patches, etc.
If anyone knows the answers to my problems just off hand I'd appreciate some help but I still ahven't searched the site for similar questions. Thanks!

Do you have the latest OS? I have not had any of those problems. The frustrating thing that I find with the Fusion is that every time I have a problem it turns out to be caused by me not understanding how parameter is supposed to work. I hate it when it does what I tell it to and it really isn't what I want. Clipping has to have something to do with levels. There are two places that you can set levels. One at the oscillator page and one on the program level. Anyway, welcome to the Club.

Well, I'll introduce myself: I'm Phil. I've had my Fusion for about 8 months now and I figure its time to get into the nuts and bolts of it. Welcome and good luck!!! A) some patches I made form scratch have awful digital clipping sounds when the EGs close Release time(s) too fast? A setting of 0 (and even slightly upwards) is so fast as cause clicks, clips and other noises. B) Most patches but not all retain the previous filter setting that I just adjusted on the last patch i was on an there's no way to get it back where it should but when i change to a different patch the filter settings appear as if they've gone back to zero, I can't recall if it did this on the previous OSs. This is something others have reported and is to do with the Assignable Knobs - seems if you mess with th filter cutoff from the Assignable Knobs, the knob's value is somehow 'retained' when you switch to the next sound. You can clear this by pressing STOP in the sequencer. C)I can't figure out how to make the arpeggiator drive other devices, it just plays the notes I hold down. Errmmm... it should just play the notes you hold down (maybe I am misunderstanding something here). To control external devices, in the EDIT ARP page, there is a parameter 'PLAYBACK MODE' which can be set to LOCAL (Fusion only), MIDI (external only) and LOCAL + MIDI (both). Steve

Hey thanks guys, Ok the apr thing worked I thought I tried that already but evidently not. I figured out the whole pressing stop to to return the filter control knobs to the programs default but it's still pretty annoying.
I new about the the whole release being to fast thing, which also pisses me off but on certain programs, ones I've made from scratch mainly or edited the EGs, I get that popping sound at the end of the release even if its 30seconds long.

Do you have an envelope on Volume in those circumstances? There have been issues with the Fusion popping a lot when there isn't one; it can't figure out where a voice has finished - possibly because of DC offsets - so it runs out of CPU and kind of goes into "panic mode" (which leads to popping). Sticking an envelope on overall Volume, even if it's just a gate, sorts that out.
