Hey everyone, I'm Tammy and got my fusion 8HD in October 06 through my x who reps the product to the southeast. I missed the whole sales pitch and tutorial...just got a box with a fun keyboard, book, and now I'm trying to use it. I've been writing songs and singing for 25+ years and this keyboard enables me to realize all the music in my head, so I'm excited! The instructional language has been difficult for me as I'm not a technical person and learn better by doing than reading. So, if you offer your expertise on any topic, speak in layman terms, please! I'm now trying to: a) convert the .afn files to .wav files or MP3 on my pc. My first attempt corrupted the file or so my free MP3 encoder suggested. b) determine the most cost effective processor to connect external speakers for listening and lay down vocal tracks. Suggestions?

Welcome Tammy, There are some good tutorials that you can view under the heading of... ah... tutorials at the bottom of the Club's homepage. One is a link for the Sudosonic DVD/download. I am not the one to solve any computer related problems, but someone will be along to help. As for speakers, do you have some good headphones? That would get you up and running while you figure out speakers. There are tons of good speakers. If you get the self powered ones, all you will have to do is place them and plug them in. Rod

Welcome Tammy! I got this little amp, and it does fine. Plenty loud and clean. Amazing power for just 15 watts! and cheap! The fusion left output is not mono, so to get both left and right channels, you either have to use a Y jack to go into one input or have an amp that has 2 inputs. and this amp has two. So it is a good but cheap amp to use. www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Crate-KXB15-15W-Keyboard-Amp?sku=481757

Thanks Rod for the directive to the tutorials..I wouldn't have known that the Sudosonic DVD/Download would have entailed info relevant to my situation. See, it's that language thing... I'll check it out.
And thank you also to Shaggyclown. I do have a set of powered speakers (audix?) but isn't there a piece of equipment that goes in between the keyboard and the speakers? Don't laugh..I'm a newbie! Like a processor or mixing board...that's what I need advice on.

And amp goes between Source and speakers. But if you have powered speakers, then the amp is in the speakers themselves, and thus you are all set to go. Just plug the fusion into them and play. The only question would be "Can those powered speakers handle the fusion. And without knowing what they are, one would only be able to guess. Chances are, they can.
1. What are they anyway? Make, model, and watt?
2. What do they have for input jacks?
