Hello Everyone!
I really like the idea of being able to other sound files into the Alesis Fusion.
If anyone knows how to create a looped .wav file, so that when it is uploaded to the Alesis Fusion and continues to play as a looped file when keyed upon, I'd appreciate any information on how to do this.
I've tried using a .wav editor, but I've had no luck at understanding the process of creating a looped .wav file.
Much Thanks,
VykenMax ;D

First of all, welcome to the Club. Second. Check out the sampling tutorials here... www.alesis.com/index.php?id=56,87,0,0,1,0 Read through both the introduction to sampling and the how to edit a sampling program. Once you get the Wav into the Fusion, you have to get into the program and set your start and end points to get your Wav to loop.

Thanks for that information. I already knew about the Alesis Fusion instructions for that in the manual. That is not the way I am trying to accomplish in creating a looped sound file.
Is there a way to create a looped sound file in a pc based sound editor and if so, what file extension should it be saved in, so that it will automatically loop once loaded into the fushion?
The creator of those Hollow Sun sounds is able to create looped sound files to share with others. I wish to do the same. ;D

I wish to do the same. ;D We create our sustain loops in either software ( Antares Infinity (MAC) / Zero-X Seamless Looper (PC) ) or within our main sampling device (Akai S5000/S6000). All our samples are .wav's and once we have created the basic programs in the Akai, we use Fusion Converter Free to get them all into Fusion format. We then add the finishing touches directly in the Fusion environment. Hope that helps.

Thanks for that information. I finally found a free software program that will create loop samples in wav format and will also export in MP3 format as well. If anyone else is interested in this free software program, you can get it from: wavosaur.comthx, Vykenmax ;D

Hello, Brand new-out-of-the-box to this group & I'm looking to be an owner of the Fusion in the near future and would love some insight into this keyboard. 2 burning questions that I have with this keyboard is that I'm wondering what the Sweetwater edition of this keyboard is like and also,I've read the tutorial on the Alesis website & I am not clear as to exactly what the nature of "creating a pattern based song" actually is. As I understand it,the Fusion's midi sequencer does not have true pattern recording. I own the Korg Triton Extreme,so I am unfamiliar with the Fusion's method of recording. Any input would be helpful. Thanks

Welcome Elwood (if that is in fact your real name , Fusion does not support pattern sequencing like a groove box. You can't build several patterns up and then chain them into a song. You have to sequence the entire song. So I think it sort of requires that you have a really good idea of where you are going to begin with. Within that song you can use patterns of various lengths. You can loop a 4 bar bass line for a specific number of bars and then use a 2 bar drum beat. The Tutorial explains it very well. Think of it as a linear sequencer or as I think of it as a muti-track midi/audio recorder. Coming from the old days of analog tape it seems very natural and simple to me. If I can make it work, anyone can!

Mps, Thanks for the welcome & the input.I'm not doubting that I can make this type of sequencing work for me,it's just that pattern recording is such a joy to work with,as it's incredibly easy & saves an enormous amount of time. I was surprised when I first discovered that the Fusion did not have pattern recording-as this feature is pretty much synonymous with workstations, but this minor discrepancy will not hinder my decision to get one,as primarily,I will be using this keyboard to sweeten & finalize everything I sequence on my Korg. The Fusion still remains to be the most versatile & amazing recording tool on the market for the price range. With that being said, once I add the Fusion to my studio, the possibilities will be infinite and my studio will be complete!! I must come up with the green for this keyboard soon,as I'm on a mission from God.
